Kane21d Nice Jeep man. I too am a fully Rhino/Monstalined Jeep - it's such a great look and makes the rig practically indestructible.

petercass88 I gotcha, part of me wishes I could have sprayed but it came out great regardless!
09-03-2013 07:08 AM
banks316 I just kept spraying and spraying untill the can was empty. I didn't do any of the roll bar.

petercass88 How did you get so many coats out of it? Also my cost includes some additional stuff you dont think of like mek, gloves, mask, safety glasses, etc etc etc if you don't already have all that stuff. I struggled to get 2 full coats of black on the inside of the tub and up the roll bars and had about a quarter of my second gallon of green left by the time I was done with coat two on the outside. Sometime down the road I will do another coat or two for added thickness but everything got coated pretty well. Short term I might need a touch up kit though.

I bought three gallons- 2 color, one black, 2 cans of OD green additive, the spray gun. With shipping was little bit ober $500. I was able to do 4 coats of both clor and black on the outside. Then 5 coats in the interior of color. Im very happy with how it turned out.

petercass88 KCCO guys! It cost about 750 for 3 gallons, the color additives, and the kits they come with with rollers and scuffers etc. And if you put in the chassis saver code or give them a call, you get a free quart of chassis saver with your order. At least that deal was going on when I bought mine. It took me a lot of time to properly tear down the jeep and keep in mind some unexpected costs like I spent about 40 bucks in bolts from stripped and broken bolts. My goal now is to get some girls on the hood with my chive on sticker and submit it to the chive. Woo! Lol

That will look good, I wanted to do the same color but didnt cause I didnt want to attract undo attention. My jeep isn't what you consider street legal.

Cole Noah You should be proud of that bad girl! That's one good looking jeep!
08-25-2013 11:53 PM
petercass88 thank you! It really did take a long time... half of it after applying the monstaliner was waiting time for parts to arrive.
08-25-2013 11:48 PM
Cole Noah Great job! I wish I had the time to do something like that!
08-25-2013 11:45 PM

Second to last post

This will be my second to last post on this thread. I will do one more post when everything is completely finished but here is where i am. The last piece of the dash has come in so i put it all together! Sadly my head unit doesn't have an aux so i am going to go grab a cheap one as soon as possible. I put marine speakers in and did the dash overlay in black marine vinyl. It came out great so the seat covers are being returned and i will do the seats in marine vinyl too in the same pattern as the seat covers.

petercass88 Hey no worries I re-read my first reply and it sounded kind of defensive! My apologies! I appreciate any and all questions/comments/etc.! How do you like the texture as a spray? I really love how the roller came out!!! Its very smooth yet bumpy with a slightly shiny finish.

Carlsbad0331 I didnt notice any pictures with the tire bumpers removed from the tailgate or with the rear lights removed (maybe I missed them). I just sprayed my jeep over the last couple weeks and I removed the rubber trim pieces also. They came right off and I used 3m Double sided molding tape to put it back on.
Like I said, wasnt criticism...
Sure as hell, went back and paid more attention to your pictures and see that you did take everything off... SORRY!
06-24-2013 09:22 AM
petercass88 One more thing I will note if you are also referring to the rubber gasketing - the gaskets around the doors and tailgate are attached using a gunky adhesive. Yes... it would have taken 10 minutes or less to strip it off but I guarantee it would have taken over an hour to re-attach them with new adhesive. I figured tape.would do just fine. I wanted to do a good job so I stripped as much as I could but im by no means a professional so it isnt going to be perfect but I love how it all came out!
06-23-2013 06:57 PM
petercass88 The rear lights were out, i stripped off as much as i could. I show it in some of the pictures... I am confused what you are getting at? It is pretty well stripped, im not sure what more i could have removed aside from removing the tub from the frame completely.
06-23-2013 05:52 PM
Carlsbad0331 This is not meant as criticism, but only a question... Given the amount of work you did to take the Jeep apart, why didnt you take off the rubber parts, rear lights, metal parts on the hood? Would have taken all of another 10 minutes.
Now, if you ever do remove any of these parts for any reason you have red spots still showing.
Just trying to figure out if I missed something, as to why these things shouldnt be taken off.

Thanks! I used scotch blue painters tape. Im debating spray painting the front wheel wells black to match the back (the inside, you can see the red) but im not sure yet. It was extremely easy to roll on, the outside more-so than the inside! BTW you don't need two full gallons for the outside, i have more than half a gallon left that had to go to waste and i put as thick of coats as i could without it getting too runny... You could probably get away with a gallon and a quart or two. The interior and roll bars need more than 1 gallon though especially if you go up the firewall.
