But when I have a choice, I'll pay more for the American manufactured product which helps to keep our friends, family, & neighbors employed. And even if a Warn winch has a small % of foreign content, that is still far better than 100% foreign content in my personal opinion. Not to mention Warn has lower cost VR1000 & VR12000 models that are made in Oregon. The only Warn Jeep size winch actually made in China is their VR8000. Our economy is in a bad enough mess as it is without sending even more of our discretionary $$$ to China.
I agree with you Jerry, and I try to buy American products when I can afford it. But not everyone can set the money aside for a Warm winch or any product like that. I've spent less money on my badland winch than what a new warm 8k would cost

It's funny how our elected officials are focusing on other issues when our economy still has not recovered. I agree with Jerry and buy Made in USA whenever I can to support American workers.

94wrangleryj I got the 12000lb badland right when it came out. I have beat on it and trashed it and it has never let me down. When you buy the winch, make sure you spring for the protection plan. Its about another $30 bucks and covers it for 3 year and is an awesome plan. I broke the remote because I was stupid and I just walked in and they handed me a new one. You can also get the wireless set up for about 20 bucks and it is awesome! I have it on my 8000lb f250 powerstroke and it pulls just fine! Its even got me through the Rubicon Trail. I'm actually planning on buying another one in the next month or so to replace the one on my f250 and putting my old one on my new jeep. Can't beat the winch for under $300 bucks. I think I paid $270 for mine!

geiman For the price it doesn't seem like a bad deal. I have limited experience with them, but a fellow we helped recover this past weekend had one; if I remember correctly it was the 9K lb model. We had at least two dozen pulls and worked for over two hours getting him off the trail to get his rig fixed, and the winch worked great.

But of course that's with a brand new winch used only a few times prior; not sure how they will hold up for the long run, only time will tell.

O_M_Jeep I wish I had gotten one, a friend has the 12k, she LOVES it, has the wireless remote and is always ready to jump in and winch, it has never given her any problems at all and I have never seen it get hot or strain. If I could justify selling my RR I would have one them too.
