I have a great relationship with the guys at Adams and talk to the owner directly. Lifetime warranty if I break it. In fact, they are going to build my new one for my stretch for free.

Took it wheeling a few weekends ago, and then wheeled it just a little too hard!

So there have been some updates to the Jeep recently. After 24 years of service, the factory paint has seen its better days. So, I figured it was time for an update. I wish I wasn't always in such a rush to have to get things done so fast, but overall it turned out okay.
Also, I am getting ready to do a 6" rear stretch with Cherokee rear springs and SOA.
Just wanted to post an update of my Jeep Ass!

Wow, I really have a lot to catch up on.
I used to update this when it would still let me post pictures directly from my phone. But WF tells me I have reached my "photo limit".
Anyway, okay so, from the front steering upgrade onward:
Ive been wheeling as much as I can. We've found a new very liked park just a couple of hours away called Shiloh Ridge Off Road Park.
Also We had some fun at the Go Topless day down at Crystal Beach. There were over 2500 Jeeps!
First fairy ride!
This was interesting:
Had the luxury of having to replace my timing set a few months back. Along with a newer AX15 transmission, upgraded transfer case internals, and upgraded to an external slave cylinder. Man that thing works so smooth and great now!

I spent Sunday installing my new Durango 4x4 steering box and Rugged Ridge HD Steering linkage upgrade.

Had a great time wheeling this weekend.
After the 8.8 swap and re gear and everything it's gone through the past couple of months, it performed very well.

Do you see my battle wound on the passenger side cowl behind the hood??

|daddyjeep||The Jeep is really looking good.Even with that grill.|

Finally, it is back on four tires again! 4.88s front and rear. G2 chromoly, Aussie locked front D30, ford 8.8 with LSD rear. Adams driveshafts front and rear with sye and double cardan shaft.
Tj grill, led front markers, deleted transfer case drop, added rock sliders and tube fenders, custom bump stop extensions, and finally, spiderwebshade.
Taking it out this weekend to Hidden Falls Adventure Park for Wheelers For The Wouded.

So I had installed some longer than stock bump stops to run 35s. Then had to figure out how to space them down and be stable.
The end result may look overkill, but no one makes a bump stop "spacer block" for how I wanted to space them and have full use of the axle tube to bump on.

As darkness started to set today I was still working. I was able to bolt up the a/c condenser and radiator, and get the grille centered.
Used some loctite and set the rear spring u bolts to 65ftlbs as per rough country. Cleaned up my mess a little bit, started the jeep and let her run a bit for the first time in a couple of weeks. Fired right up!
A little night shot of the LED front lights. Attachment 998953
More to come soon.
I am hoping that I can drop it off at the shop on Tuesday to get the 4.88s installed.....

The final product of today....
Still have to bold the condenser and radiator back in though..
|04-17-2014 04:25 PM|
Got all the front lights wired up and working. Yaaay LED's!!!
|04-17-2014 12:23 PM|
Getting some more done today. Glad I get 1 day a week off of work....
Still working on lining up the YJ hood. Seems like the hood sits about 1" to the passenger side at the top of the TJ grille.
The bottom of the grille is pretty close to even along the outside edge of the frame rail.
Also going to do the front LED wiring today.

|dmaxthad||I put the same fenders on my YJ. I like them a lot, especially for the money.|
|04-13-2014 01:57 PM|
Got the other fender mounted today. Still have some trimming to do to make the TJ grille fit.
Then bolt up the tube fenders to it.
Also figured out my grille body mount had a 2" hole rusted through it so I fixed that as well.

Today consisted of some more Jeep building. I am thankful for having a couple of days off work, and nice weather at the same time for once.
I fiddled around with the 8.8 some more checking out pinion angle some more. At ride height they are both 7.2/7.4* and driveshaft spins freely. However, when at full leaf spring droop currently, my driveshaft binds big time. I'd prefer to avoid getting an sye and cv driveshaft right now if I could, but I don't have an idea on avoiding that one.
Got new rear discs and pads on the 8.8, and adjusted the parking brake shoes inside as well. Then welded in some scrap steel on the back of each perch where I'm going to mount the rubber end of each brake hose.
And started on the front tube fenders. Which is a pita!
The end for today..
I still have a hell of a to do list for it...
