|thgr8alex||Ok so i got it installed and left the tip off because no way it would fit. The tailpipe is now releasing the fumes directly onto the tow package below my bumper about 5-6 inches away. Makes that tow package pretty hot... Anything to worry about with this? Should i get a turndown tip or just dont touch it?|

|Trailsnail||It follows the same path but the pipe is 2.5". You probably will just need to leave off the pretty exhaust tip|

If i have a curries enterprises rear bumper and a tow package as well, will the banks still fit? Or will the tow package need to be removed? I have stock exhuast now and the stock fits so i assume the banks follows same path as stock or does it go higher/lower etc.
Can take pic tomorrow if need be

it's the same as having a side pipe.
thanks for the concern though.

|thgr8alex||Dang, i wasnt planning on letting it exit under cab but will make sure it doesnt happen no matter what|
|05-30-2013 11:08 AM|
It's definitely not a good idea to have the exhaust exit under the cab, that's how carbon monoxide gets in & why all exhausts exit all the way to the rear.
A tragic story in the news happened a few months ago when a father/son were out shoveling snow for $$$. The son got cold & got inside the car to warm up & started the engine. He died from carbon monoxide poisoning from sitting in place with the fumes rising straight up into the passenger compartment from the exhaust that dumped out under the car.

|Trailsnail||I will say this, it's a little loud if if exits under the cab. I couldn't get the bigger pipe past my rear truss. But even on a long trip from Atlanta to Jax, Fl it was not overwhelming. My wife hates it which means she drives it less.|

|JP4VPI||Sounds like me n my jeep a few months ago. I put on the banks 3 months ago and monstalined bout 4 weeks ago. The banks still sounds good. No real droning to speak of unless the engine is lugging but easy to fix that by downshifting.|
|05-30-2013 12:27 AM|
|thgr8alex||All im hearing is good things!! and i sure hope you dont have any droning. The kit for our jeeps on their websites says its superior to other exhausts because it doesnt drone (something along those lines) haha so it better not drone! But i havent heard of anyone with droning issues so thats good|

|thgr8alex||Ya i loved that feature about it, one less thing to worry about rusting. Im monstaling my jeeps interior in about 2 weeks (its in my room but too busy to start it). The banks will be right there with it pretty soon haha.|

|Trailsnail||Go with the Bank's. I think Jerry forgets that the Banks is all stainless. That $100 deal he got is most likely aluminized steel.........that stuff that rusts.|

|thgr8alex||Bought it today, 235.99 shipped!|

|thgr8alex||Ya thats a good point. I may have made a mistake by not doing it locally (i bought it a few hours ago) but there were so many good reviews about it and it sounded just like i was looking for. If it turns out bad or i dont like it then i will 100% try out the local muffler shop. Thanks for the advice on that, i never thought about trying the local place but i will in the future need be|
|05-29-2013 01:33 PM|
|Jerry Bransford||I paid just over $100 for mine including them changing the muffler to a quieter version & rerouting part of it due to my then new long-arm suspension system. Trust me, I think you'll be happy/happier if you have it done locally... not to mention supporting your local economy.|
|05-29-2013 01:28 PM|
|thgr8alex||Thats another good option but the banks sounds just like i want (according to all the youtube videos) and for just over 200, that doesnt seem very high. I probably could get one a little cheaper at a local shop but getting them to tinker with it until its how i like isnt really appealing since my jeep is a dd and ill have no way of getting to my job haha. If it wasnt my dd id be all over it! Ill just call around and see whos got it for cheapest. A lot of the memorial day sales have been extended so its a good day to buy!|

Personally, I wouldn't buy any exhaust system over the internet or by phone. First, what are you going to do if you don't like the sound? Too loud? Sound like a ricer? Take it off, box it up, and send it back? That would be a PITA if you ask me. Not to mention such cat-back systems are crazy expensive compared to what you can have installed locally.
I would go to a local small independent muffler shop, tell them what you want, & they'll make & install it for you. And likely for less $$$ than what a Banks or Borla cat-back costs which is no better quality. I did that & when the muffler we decided on was too loud, they swapped it for a quieter version at no extra charge. You can tell a muffler shop what sound you want & they'll know what muffler to recommend... not a one model muffler for all like the internet models are.
Note I said "small independent" muffler shop. A large chain muffler shop like Midas will charge an arm & a leg to do the same job.
Not to mention you can get it done in a few hours & be done with it... you won't have to wait a week for it to arrive via UPS. And you can even get a cool fancy stainless tip just like comes on the Banks.

|Lookin2buy||I've got it on my 02. Love it! Good sound, good quality...think I bought mine on eBay for around $225 shipped...great deal too!|
|05-29-2013 12:55 PM|
|marrk_us||Over 140,000 miles on mine. Still as solid as the day I put it on. If you factor in never worrying about it rusting out, and the time and money you would spend replacing a "less expensive" system, I say it's one of the best bargains out there.|

|Ptlm1013||Bought mine about 4 monthes ago. Love it. Easy to install purchased from performance truck products|

|eagle223||I would say amazon is pretty good if you are a prime member because of the free two day shipping. If anything do a google shopping search and see what prices come up|

Purchasing Banks Exhaust
After a good bit of research and video watching i think im going to purchase the banks monster exhaust. Just wanted to get a few opinions to make sure what i read is still valid and its a good kit. Any problems with it? If so, what? Also where would be the best place to buy it from? Any vendors on here who sell banks? Or wheres everyone getting the best deal at?
