joeg679 I would love to see comparison pics of the Rebels. I have aftermarket lights in because the stock headlights were like an Eveready flashlight. The ones I have now are better, but there is no high beam and they look kind of blue.

Initially I've had an issue with the color and how bright they were (compared to stock). Almost to bright?

However after reading additional forum responses, it seems my idea of 'too bright' stems from the city area I live in. Most rural area JK responses reference the stocks are poor in illumination, however if you're in a major well lit city, the stock lights may not be an issue.

Now, after driving a friends A4 and 3 series, the color (and the beam progression) is nearly identical (both in driving and head-on view).

I guess I just needed to get used to it.

BUT... Is it $800 worth? I dunno... But they do look pretty nice.

Hopefully somebody will chime in whom has these Rebel LEDs to compare. lol

These are for the Headlights. (Not Fogs - although they have some for Fogs also)

joeg679 Does anyone know of an affordable solution for yellow LED fog lights? $80 for the white LED's is good, but I'd really like the yellow. Thanks

ToplessTN I have the Rampage LED CHMSL on the way, should have it installed this weekend. I'll let you know what I think.

HK_Runner I am still struggling with the 3rd brake light. Well, struggling with what to use. Those lug-nut-like ones will not work for me. I need something above the 35" tire or on the hard top. Bright LED would be best.

HK_Runner I wanted to get fogs as well, but I think I'll try the Truck Lite LEDs first, and then see if I need more. It's really on those dark and twisty mountain highways and roads where I need more light. The stockers are dim but adequate in the city. That said, we don't drive that much in the city at night, and when we do, we take the 4Runner. The difference in light is pretty significant.

The Vision X fogs are very bright and well made. If you really want to spend your money wisely for the upgrade, I strongly suggest changing the headlights first. With the factory headlights I had to drive with the fogs on all the time, with the JW Speaker headlights there is no need to turn the fogs on at all.

Aeschylus The Vision X LED fogs are 350$
The Fortec LED fogs are 80$

Seems like a huge difference.

As someone who plans to upgrade the fogs first, has little experience when it comes to lighting in general, and wanting to "do it right", I am interested to know if the Vision X set is really worth the 270$ premium.

Not opposed to spending the money to do it right, but just wanting to make sure it is money well spent.

DaK You will be most happy with the vison X fogs... If you use them with the stock headlights, you will definitely see the low quality of light the stock units provide.

I went with the Vision X fogs and Recon for the turn signals and the side markers. I ended up ordering the In Pro tail lights and 3rd brake light from Amazon. They were significantly cheaper than Quadratec. Also Quardratec's shipping charges are rediculous.

Thanks again!
You got everything, but what you needed. Just kidding, but seriously the best lighting upgrade you can do is ditch the stock headlights and get some led's. I went with the JW's, huge improvement over the stock garbage!

Sgt93 What about using the Dually D2's as fogs in the fog pattern? I wonder if that would help keep them more usable? Or throw and amber cover over them?

Wranglin4Life They appear to be more affordable too

Gbobva I have the truck lites... Love em. Put out a great beam and I like the white light. They do have a X (really V V pattern), but that doesn't bother me.

Good luck on the fogs. DO NOT GO DUALLY. I put in the regular (not D2) into my Rockhard bumper, angled all the way down and they are WAY too bright to be used as fogs. I could never turn them on if there were other cars around. Now I have bumper mounted AUX driving lights for when I would normally use high beams. The light is amazing but just too bright to be used as fogs.

After I do the SPOD thing, I may replace them with a set of Pilot PL360Cs I have lying around.

Good luck.

I hardly notice it and it doesn't drive me nuts at all. I'm happy with my Trucklites.

smaxberry I have the JW Speakers prior to the upgrade they did. I love them. The difference between mine and the new ones is, the new ones doesn't have the fan to circulate the heat to prevent the ice over, but the new ones don't require trimming. Hilldweller says the trucklites put out a better beam, but they do have an X from where the lights cross, and that would drive me nuts. I have no complaints about mine, other than I can't see how badass they look on while I'm driving.

LED fog lights is strictly vanity. I prefer the JW Speaker look in this case too. The trucklites are cheaper in both cases, and getting a harness to covert h13 to h4 with supplemental power from the battery is recommend for the headlights. It will eliminate flicker.

Blinkers and taillights fall into the same category as fogs. I want to do the JW Speaker fogs just to match the bad-assery. I wanted to do the marker/blinker but have yet to find a swap with enough positive reviews for me to pull the trigger.

The 90mm projector from rallylights.com have to best reviews from Hilldweller and really change the look of you headlight, and seem to be available in every lighting option, halogen, led, xenon, etc.

kappaknight I'm not sure how the VisionX fog lights compare to the Dually's but I had them bookmarked as a possible upgrade.

Rebel Off Road: Vision-X LED Fog Light Upgrade for Jeep Wrangler JK 2007+ - YouTube
VisionX Jeep JK Factory Fog Light LED Upgrade Kit

The LED's above for turn signals are cool. Definitely a good option. I also found this: Recon LED's with smoked lenses. Recon Jeep Installation Instructions - YouTube - they sell them for the side and front turn signals.

Proxy404 I've been planning the same upgrade. I'd like all of the lights on the Jeep to be LED.

As far as headlights go this thread has some really good info. Little long but worth the read:
JKOwners.com - The community for Jeep JK Owners

For fog lights I'm looking at Duallys (Dually). Although it kind of depends on what type of bumper you have. I have a Rampage Recovery Bumper. They will fit inside the fog light holes in the bumper. The stock fog lights fit in the bumper, so I believe these would fit in the stock bumper as well.

For turn signals (size 3157) I'm thinking of going with Putco LEDs (LED 360° Premium Replacement Bulbs by PUTCO). They will fit in the same socket as the regular filament bulbs, no modifications needed.

The side marker lights (size 3157 as well) can use the same bulbs.

For the tail lights, Quadratec has some nice ones (In-Pro Car Wear LEDT-420C - In Pro Car Wear LED Tail Lamps for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec). You can pick the background color.

The whole LED upgrade can be pricey. But I think It's worth it. The LEDs look great.

LED lighting upgrade?

I am inspired by some of the great looking JK's I have seen on this forum. Most recently JKashat's storm trooper project. I have a Call of Duty MW3 special edition in black and I would like to start with upgrading the lighting.

I have decided on a few items but I could use some help figuring out the rest. I would like to have a uniform look with all the lighting being LED. Thanks in advance for your help!

1) Headlights - JW Speaker 8700 Evolution (black)

2) Fog lights?

3) Front turn signals?

4) Fender side markers? Prefer black or smoke color lenses.

5) Tail lights - In Pro LED, ruby red
