I "upgraded" to something that uses 1 ton tie rod ends. This one is in great shape though and hardly used. I will use your same drag link too.

UnlimitedLJ04 the ball joints are the toughest. if you can do this, the tie-rod and track bar are easy.

DANGItsVictor That is ALL stuff you can do on your own if you have a basic wrench and socket set. I am sure people on WF would be more than willing to help you out too if you get in a bind. Def dont pay that much to have someone else do it.

As far as parts go, I have a brand new HD tie rod sitting in my garage. VERY BEEFY.. You pay the shipping and its yours. I would rather it go to good use than just sit there.

GoldenSahara00 Ball joints are probably the trickiest but you can do them. The stuff is fairly expensive for OEM, and the ball joints are expensive new no matter what. But you could probably get away well under 300 doing it yourself. Depending how much you spend on the TR and trackbar. I hardly believe they need replacing until I see them though.

Huelsmma Tie rod and trackbar even a newbie like me was able to replace on his own. Dont know about tie rods though.

So I took the jeep to get it aligned...

I replaced my steering box.

my steering was a little stiff when turning to dead center and away from it and my steering wheel was a little bit off.

I also noticed a popping noise as I turned some times. Only when not moving though.

So I took it to my mechanic I always bring my jeep to to get it aligned, hoping it would solve the problem.

He doesn't do the alignments, he brings it to a place to get it aligned. This alignment shop told him I needed a few parts before they could get it aligned.

He comes back with me needing a new tie rod, track bar, and two new ball joints. For a total of $969.98.

That sounds like way too much. I'm guessing those parts are worn from the DW I experienced a while back when i rotated my tires, apparently one of them is so out of balance, it causes death wobble, so I have to keep it in the back.

Are these parts hard to replace? Prompt answer please.
