mscout118 If 4.88 is good for the overdrive, how does it effect the lower gears for daily driving? Will I see a difference from stock gears/tires?

Sorry but I dont know shite about gearing and have this image in my head of the Jeep running high rpm's with 4.88.

Thanks, and Roll Tide!

TJDave He has an LJ, so it will be the 42rle. Stupid high overdrive and you will want 4.88 with 33's.

I have the same tranny and 4.88's. That is as low as I can go with the D30 up front.
Stock gears sucked, 4.88's was great with 33's. Now with 35's, I wish I had 5.13's.

Need first hand advice

I have read many threads about re gearing, most with different opinions.

I have an 06 LJ auto with 33's.

Who has actual experience with this setup and 4.56 or 4.88 that could help me make a decision? My Jeep is my daily driver.

Is 4.56 good for hiway speeds with this tranny?
