Its a rancho rock gear carrier, when u take off your stock bumper you will see there is absolutely no bumper to it, just plastic, some fill it with 7 gal of water and use it for camping. Its a cool mod.

Commandocon Not sure if this helps, I run a 37" tire, not sure what size you are running, and this is not a aev carrier but it may give you an idea. My tire doesn't come close to the hitch.

A question about hitches and tire carriers

I like bike riding, it lets me drink beer & eat pizza without putting on much weight.

I just got a Yakima Swingdaddy bike rack
Yakima SwingDaddy Hitch Rack - 4 Bike at that does not clear the spare tire

So I am planning on getting a 8" hitch extender, but saw this at Harbor Freight Dual Hitch Extender & Other Dual Hitch Receivers - Harbor Freight Tools
The top part clears the spare tire until you try to open the tail gate, then about 1" of the tire hits the hitch.

So the question is, if I add on a AEV bumper and tire carry or some other carry, would that clear the top of the hitch, Anyone know?
if not then I will just get a regular hitch extender.
