thedawgshow For those of us around Indy, We are looking to meet up between 8:00 and 9:00 at McDonalds at State Road 267 and Interstate 70 on the south side of Plainfield.

Looks like a good chance of some rain coming in Saturday and Sunday. Should make for plenty of mud. I think I will put my soft top and half doors on.

For sure coming on Sunday. Do we have a time and location to meet up prior to heading down?
I'm going to look up and see what the weather's supposed to be like. If it's good then I'm definitely taking the top and doors off.

I went to Bad Lands and it was a great time for my boys and I. It is privatly owned and operated, and everyone there was real nice. A lot of cool rigs, 4 wheelers and more.

Here are a few pics of our time there.....

I will definatly go back sometime, but I wanted to check out Red Bird, as I have not been there yet, and everyone speaks well of it.

You should make this trip to Red Bird and then next month we can head up to the Bad Lands.

I don't think we trying to do anything too hard. Most all of us are pretty green, and pretty stock. I don't think any of us want to get towed back home after this trip.

I plan on leaving Indy around 9AM or so and being at Red Bird no later than noon and wheeling for a few hours and out of there no later than 5PM myself.

Looking around locally to find a place to regear to 4.56 first. Any comments?

Well, if everyone commits, right now it looks like about 5 or 6 of us.

As far as re-gearing first, I don't think it is a bad idea at all. I have thought heavy about doing it before I get my lift and tires. I have only 1 year old 31"s and want to use them up first anyway.

Gears are special, and you need a good gear guy too. Not just a tech.

I'm still looking at getting the wheels and tires this week for my 3.21 and I know it's going to suck for a while. So I'm also wondering if anyone has regeared in Indiana and would recommend a local shop? I've read about Get Bent Kustoms in Fort Wayne but I don't know if they're still in business since I can't find their info. I'll most likely just buy all the equipment from 4ws.com and have a shop install. Wondering what labor will cost?

Khatton ....... Just read my sticker sheet and found out mine came with the normal 3.21 gears. I thought it had atleast the 3.73. Looks like regearing is in my future now.
07-19-2014 01:17 PM
thedawgshow Depends. What gears do you have now? We will be hitting some of the easier trails for now as most of us are beginners.

I'd be up for it! This will be my first time really ever doing anything offroad (my last vehicle was a coupe) so I'd have to be edumuhcated right quick. Since I'm most likely getting these 35's this week do you think that without a regear will put me at a disadvantage on the trail at all?
