MDO1265 Roman,

I had a similar problem on my 2000 TJ when I got it. While youre in there replacing switches and pigtails , replace the resistor too. If the resistor is bad , your new blower switch still wont work on the first three blower motor fan speed settings. Very common problem & replacement part.

Check this out for the resistor location and install... Its under the glovebox.. very easy.

Roman1_16 Before I finish, what are these things? Do I need them?

RUBI 4 MY MRS Yes, the links were for the switches if you happened to need either. The part # I gave are dealer #s for the 3 wire pigtail for the mode switch & the 5 wire one for the speed switch as stated above. You can search around for another source, I don't know of any.

Roman1_16 Am I going to have to buy the pigtail from a dealer? I'm looking on amazon and the links you sent me and I can't find it. My vacuum switch works fine.

RUBI 4 MY MRS A pigtail connector is the connector with the terminals installed & a short section of wire for each terminal. You have to cut the old wires & crimp or solder the new to the old, matching the wires by color or note & mark the position of each from the old connector.

This is just an example, not one that you need.

Roman1_16 It looks like you may need to replace the wiring pigtail too. That is available as well as the speed switch but you will have to cut the old connector wire & connect in the new pigtail. I think these #s are good from the dealer.

The switch is available other places, here is one.

While you have it apart carefully check the 3 wire connector & switch terminals on the mode switch. That switch & connector pigtail is also available if needed.

whats a pigtail? to am i going to have to like splice or whatever the term is for the connector?

RUBI 4 MY MRS That is called the (fan) speed switch. The one on the other end is the mode switch & the middle one is the temp(ature) switch. You certainly need a speed switch. Here is a link to replacing it. See the photos on posts #22 & #45.

Climate control knob not working. Need help!

When we bought my Jeep the guy said air conditioning only worked in the middle of the 2 and 3 things.

Seen here:

I am just now deciding to take a look at it because its hella hot outside here in Louisiana and the air that's coming out now ain't cutting it. (I do take the top off fairly regularly, but I'm about to move 4 hours away from my parents for college and I would like a proper air conditioner.

So I pulled apart the front dash, took out the climate control knobies, and pulled these apart:

I figured it was a blown whatever... I have no idea where to go from here, what to do. I have a very minimal understanding of electronics and whatnot.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, such as if Ivan fix this myself, where I can buy new parts, how much these parts are, is it a fire hazard? Anything. Thanks!!
