on the road or at any speed upwards of 15 MPH, i would not go w/ the windshield down, but on the trail i have heard that it is awesome to go w/ it down. i have recently mounted my hilift to the roll bars so that on my next trip i can put it down. i also would not recommend this if you don't have a full roll cage.

I agree, I don't know that I'd ever drop mine either.

distortedtj Couple of aluminum fence post clamps, two bolts, few washers, and some wing nuts from ACE hardware....total was something like $2.86.

You can mount it higher or lower on the roll bar as you like.

I no longer have it there but it works. My resides in the garage or mounted to the box I have built into the back of my tub.

Ironman I designed and fabed a bracket that holds my Highlift up below my spare tire. It plugs into my receiver hitch.

Jerry Bransford About the best easy/cheap way to mount a Hi-Lift is at the base of the rollbar at the rear. Just get some big u-bolts like you might use for chain-link fence posts and secure it to the rollbar using wing nuts and washers. That's a real popular location. Just don't mount it to the radiator support rods inside the engine compartment where it just gets too hot to touch in addition to other problems that location causes.

HI LIFT Mounting ideas..?

Hey guys haven't been on here in a while, but I've been real busy doing repairs and upgrades. All that is left is the fun stuff....i bought a hi lift and was looking for mounting ideas, any suggestions or pics would be great, thanks.
Recent upgrades....6 speaker sound bar (camo), roll bars pads(camo), kicker sub woof in the truck (can't get to fire, diff. thread), BAnks monster cat back exhaust; 1" BB (this ended being about a 30 hr project, as body mounts were all rotted and not even holding the body down, gutted the whole interior, cut and replaced all rotted sheet metal with thicker gauge sections); and new tuffy center console and glove box... yet to be installed are tube nerf bars and the hi lift set up, I'll try to post pics!
