|JoshuaGoodwin88||If your gonna go out doors buy relocation brackets for your mirrors, you can find them for $15 on Craigslist, they just install in the brackets that hold your windshield|

|Flashole||Unless they are going to outlaw motorcycles, I've never understood the No Door laws that some places have in place. Thankfully, in TX, you are GTG doorless. Freedom....How does it work?|

|DFW6ER||^Good to hear.|

|Rough Rider||I've had my Jeep inspected several times without doors or top. No problems. I don't run doors or top from 3/1 thru 10/31.|

|DFW6ER||So anybody try to get their jeep inspected with the doors off? I know it's legal to run that way, but I've seen inspection stations try and not pass for all sorts of "grey" areas when it comes to the law.|

I pulled my doors and cruised around with just the center rear view. It worked fine but damn it was weird. I kept "checking" my side rear views and would find myself disoriented and befuddled for a half second before remembering that they were simply not there heh. Also I didn't realize how much I truly needed my right side mirror until I went to back it into the garage.
I ended up getting some cheapish mirrors from O'Reillys, plastidipping them and bolting them to the hinges. They look really good and are functional. Vibrate like hell though. Reminds me of my '75 CJ5 mirrors so I am keeping them.

|Ace05||Found a little cheap $3 trick for side mirrors on this forum once doors are off...bought the 2inch circle stick on convex mirrors at local auto store, put them on one side of the air vents, works perfect.|

|LSU_TJ||Cool...I thought I needed the side mirrors as well. Good to know...Might take my doors off as soon as I get home.|

It's not that you have to have the rear view mirror, it's just that you need at least one mirror which you can see the roadway 200' behind you.

|Nevery||Haha, thanks for the advice jeepers21. I'll keep it in mind|

|jeepers29||Be fore warned, once you take that top and doors off, you are not going to want to put them back on. Fortunately, here in Texas you shouldn't have to for 5 to 6 months. Enjoy your new Jeep!|

|Tweak||yup! dont need doors, fenders, and only need one mirror.|

|Benjy||Jeep tops and doors are for protection from the elements only per the sticker inside my JKU. I'll be sans doors/top next weekend if the weather holds out.|

|Nevery||Yeah, I was taught that in drivers edu a long while back. But then, the state leg just keeps adding new rules.|
|05-09-2013 05:13 PM|
|DFW6ER||Yes, legal in TX. Another post from a Texas LEO even said you only have to have your rear view mirror, no side mirrors.|

Going without doors
Is it street legal in texas to drive without the doors on?
I know this might seem like an idiot question, but I am new to jeeps. Haha
