|thor656||Maybe. I'll have to get it out again and see if a steeper hill gets it in. But even on low down slope the gear should still kick in and slow it down. Or so I thought. I just hate riding brakes down a steep hill. Its in the shop right now so I will have to take it out when I get it.|

|n00g7||Lack of hill assist because of slippage in the auto? That's what I'm assuming. I have the manual 05 rubicon, and even the steepest grades are brake free. It will sit at 500 rpm unless I add gas given the high torque from the 4:1. I tried to stall it once letting out the clutch in 4lo in first with the brakes on, the gearing won.|

tj 4 low and first gear.
So I got a 05 tj. Also got a 99. The 99 is a manual and the 05 is auto matic. Now when I go 4 low in my 99 it crawls very slowly down a hill. Specially in 1st gear. Now I tried the same thing in the 05. 4 low and 1st gear and it did not go slow down the hill. It just went and I had to ride the break. Now I also have a 01 2500hd silverado thats 4x4. And when that goes into 4 low and 1st it crawls. So does any one no why my 05 doesn't? It cant be because its automatic cuz so is my truck and my truck does it.
