that's me, I have a place in northeast Iowa and a place in central Florida. There is no way I would drive anything but a hard top durning the winter in Iowa. But I spend most of my winters in Florida.

But since the guy that asked the question lives in Illinois, he should think about it.

A rag top Jeep in the wintertime truly SUCKS as a only vehicle. But I'm assuming that you have another vehicle, that is not in question.

Is it redundant to have 2 'trucks'? I'm battling my internal senses by saying that they're really 2 different vehicles. The Jeep would be a fun 2 door convertible and the other suv is a good vehicle for, well, not really sure as I don't drive very much. lol. Maybe it's the Jeep adventures I'm looking for now. Anyways, hello WF, this is my 1st post.

And one more thing to think about....

But if that's not the case, I would get the dual top.

But if it was me, and I liked the SUV and I wanted a jeep, I would have both. Regardless of what anyone thought about it.

Ok, first off let me welcome you to the forum. Second, I just want to warn you that a Jeep Wrangler is not a, car, truck, or a SUV.
It is simply referred to as a jeep. Or, by its general body style......... CJ, YJ, JK, JKU.... and so on.

Now to get to you question.

Honestly, only you can answer it. But I can give you something to base your decision on. Because to be completely honest, a jeep is a impractical vehicle for anything besides, a fun mode of transportation. Or wheeling, camping, pulling a trailer. Or a number of other basic things. So ask yourself this;

How often do you USE your truck, or is it a fashion statement. If you do haul things with your truck, how much, and how often, and would these things fit in the back of a jeep.

But if they are Mall Crawlers. Then you really only just need one.

I hope this helps...... And again, Welcome :-)
