|XDR||Check your track bar bolt. Have someone turn steering wheel left and right while you watch the bolt and nut side. If it moves at all drill out the mount and bushing to 1/2" then use 1/2" x 2-1/2" bolt with a normal nut, you will have to place a washer on nut side to allow a wrench to fit on for full torque.|

You would know what death wobble is. Its when the jeep violently shakes, usually at highway speeds where you arent sure you are going to keep control over the jeep.
If this happens when you are hitting the breaks, you might have bent rotors or one side pulling harder than the other.
I don't see how the steering stabilizer would have much to do with this.

I am not sure if my problem is the Death Wobble. When I apply the brakes the front wheels feel like the wheels are turning right and left very fast. Last week I had another driver pull out in front of me, as a natural reflex I hit the brakes, I almost lost control with the front wheels quickly shifting right to left. I knew I had to fix this problem before I could safety drive it. So i replaced the steering stabilizer with a Rancho RS 5000. This fixed the problem, I must have been lucky, my question is, could there be an underlying problem. I understand that if a front end is working correctly there is no need for a stabilizer. I have a stock 2000 TJ with 31 inch tires, no lift. Maybe this could help someone with the same problem. Thanks
