|YJ fanatic||Any junk yard, craigslist, maybe buy a junk explorer, then scrap the rest after you are done. I got lucky, a buddy of mine owns a repair shop/towing company and he had a bunch to choose from. East Coast Gear Supply has a great kit for the 8.8 swap too. Lots of other companies have kits though, if you like them better.|

|YJ fanatic||The swap really is worth it. There's really no point to replace a weak axle with another weak axle, when you can upgrade for the same price. Try finding one from a 96-01(I think) Explorer. They have disc brakes, 31 spline shafts, and you can find them in 4.10 with limited slip if you want it.|

You will have to cut off the spring perches and weld them on under the axle. If its a Dana 35, I would say its not worth it. It'd only be worth it if it was a 8.25" axle.
Otherwise, you could swap in a Ford 8.8 with 4.10 gears. This is what I would do. The axle should cost less than $200, you can get one with disc brakes, and they are a huge improvement in strength. You will still need to cut off the perches and move them, though.

Rear end question
So I came up with a 95 wrangler 2.5, 5 speed. Thought that it had a locker in the rear end but after I bought it and got home with it the guy said he had just welded it and it didnt have a locker. So after a few weeks of sliding and chirping tires in ready for a swap on the rear end. I found a rear end out of a 2000 Cherokee. I was wondering if this will fit easily? Or if there is a better option out there.
