Anyway, I'll call GenRight to see if they can customize one for me.

|tabber02||have you looked at JCRoffroad or poison spyder? i've seen both of their stubbies run without a winch on it... though, i'm not sure why you only want to run the winch once in a while. worth their weight in my humble opinion.... and they're a pain in the arse to be repeatedly installing and removing and connecting and disconnecting...|

I don't know if you like the tube style but I've got a Rugged Ridge stubby tube for mine. I bought the winch plate model, but you can also buy them without a winch plate. Mine is really light weight and the winch plate was as heavy as the bumper itself. I estimate about 60 lbs total. Without a winch plate it might be less.

|mountainneer||I havent seen any GenRight non-winch bumpers for the JK. You might call them direct to see if they would make something up for you. They are pretty helpful. I have been down to their shop. They are located in Simi Valley, CA.|

Aluminum, Non-Winch Front Stubby Bumpers??
Ok, in my quest to find a light-weight front stubby bumper that's made not to support a winch, I'm having a hard time finding many options!!! Can anyone help??
Most bumpers are designed to carry winches. Though I have a winch, I don't want to be carrying it with me 24/7. I get off-road on average of 4 months a year, and only when it's muddy do I even consider bringing a winch. And in north Texas, it's rare that it gets that muddy.
I want it to be winch less mainly so the bumper isn't sticking so far out in front of the Jeep. And I want it aluminum so it's not so heavy.
The only option I can find is the Rugged Ridge XHD. Though I like the looks, I don't like how things are bolted on it (end caps, winch plate, and hoop). And it seems after you've bolted all this stuff to it, it's as heavy as a steal bumper. And again, it's designed to carry a winch, which means it sticks out from the Jeep quite a bit.
GenRight looks like a nice aluminum bumper, but they all look winch-ready.
So can anyone help??
