|HK_Runner||I'd like to put them on my 4Runner next. I like the Hankook ATs but I think the DuraTracs may be slightly better off road. The Jeep- MTR Kevlars this time.|

I like the duratracs, all around great tire...
These are 33x12.5x15. I run them at 30psi on the YJ for normal road use.

Do the chalk test for best air pressure for your Jeep. My 2-door likes them at 30-32lbs.
Here's another tire worth taking a look at. Fierce Attitude tires. Stupid name, but they are made by Dunlop, which is owned by Goodyear. Basically a cheaper copy of the Duratrac. People that have them like them and say they are good in snow and rain. Sold through discounttiredirect.com

|woansleftpeg||While we're on the topic of Duratracs, I have a question. I installed 285/70/17s this weekend and love the look, but I'm not quite sure of the right pressure to run them at. It's a pretty stock JKU other than Smittybilt SRC Side Armor, so no great additional weight onboard; I aired down to 35 but it seems a bit skittish on the highway. What are other people running these tires at?|

|shoreco||I have 315/70/17's on mine. I finally got to the beach this weekend....aired down to 15psi they floated on top of the sand like balloon tires (awesome).....on road I run 28psi (sweet spot)..... Great all around tire...|

|lindel||I've had my Duratracs for almost a year, about 10,000 miles with no appreciable wear and outstanding wet and winter performance. Haven't gotten them into any real mud yet and no real rocks around here but good otherwise.|

How good were the Silent Armors?

|verax||I've got 315/70/17's as well. Only put about 400 miles on them so far, but I like em. As most have chimed in with, mine is a DD, with weekend wheeling, mostly on forestry service roads. Made sense for my usage.|

|woansleftpeg||I only put mine on this weekend so I can't speak to their long term capability, but on an unlifted Jeep with 4.5" backspaced wheels the 285/70R17 tires stand proud of the fenders by about an inch and look absolutely fantastic. Highway driving has so far been impeccable, slightly more road noise than the stock wheels which is to be expected but nothing particularly intrusive.|

Edit: also, anyone know the appropriate tire size for 33" duratracs to be mounted on 17" AEV pintlers? Would it be 285/70/17? I'm thinking of saving up for the duratrac/pintler combination and ordering in the Fall- that way I can tell my wife that they're just my "snow tires," and then I will subtly sell my stockers when she isn't looking...

|DirtyTeddy||I have 315.70.17. Use them as a DD with a 2" lift and weekend roading. There's a reason many have them. I would recommend atleast a level for 35s or go with 33 with no lift.|

|pepatrick||I have 285/70/17 Duratracs and no lift. I have 7k miles on them and they barely look worn. Most of these are highway and some city miles. I occasionally take them off road as well. They are very quiet, look great and I don't seem to suffer any real gas mileage loss. I will definitely go back to them when its time to replace them.|

|OffRoadCam09||You can always go with a 33" tire either a 33x12.50 or a 285 with no lift an it will work great for inroads use an give you a much beefier stance|

|overblown||Yep, what they said!|
|06-10-2013 01:05 PM|
|jkjeeper06||It doesn't sound like you wheel that much so unless you want to get a lift too, I'd stay with the stock size. If you've always wanted bigger tires, now is the perfect size for 35's which look great on a jku|
|06-10-2013 01:04 PM|
|Lithium Lotus||I have 285/70/17 and they are great on and off road. Very low road noise for the size and do great in rain and snow. Great traction for the light off-roading I do [no rock crawling or mudding, just trail riding]. They aren't mud tires, so don't expect them to get through deep mud.|

|MJK||I have a set of 315's on 16" rims and love them. They handle great on and off road.|

duratracs that good?
so i currently have goodyear wrangler silent armor tires, love them to death and have not let me down yet. ive been seeing alot of people on here have the duratracs and seem to swear by them. i love the look of them and the aggressive tread pattern, but i just wanted to hear some thoughts from people that have had them and mainly drive city and highway with the occasional off road mudding. i have an 08 JKU, stock height, current tire size is p255/75r17 if you want to recommend me a better size.
