Its quite strong. Very sweet design we came up with too. Obviously more than just a tire rack tho.

andrew127 Most of the tire carriers I've built for customers and friends I've ended up using rolled solid steel pipe that I've out in a lathe and had lips machined on the ends, then just throw some small trailer bearings and races with it. As for the latch, a 1/2 inch spring latch has alway done well for me

Hi all. I'm sure you get this question all the time but here goes, I'm planning to build a rear tire carrier (fold out) and am wondering what to use for a post bearing and for the latch
