Thanks guys, been browsing some and trying to learn about 4x4s in general. I come from a very, very different car background (not leaving it, just joining another) so the curve is a little steeper.
Just found a potential gem, going to check it out tomorrow and hoping it's as nice as it looks. Fingers crossed on this one...

Because this is the newbie check-in area, you may not get the answers you are looking for. I suggest you check out this forum area and post your questions there, I think you'll get a better response.

New in NC, here to learn
Hey guys, first post on WF. Long time forum user but new to jeeps and the community, hoping to be able to get involved soon. I don't own a wrangler yet but I've been scouting them for a while now and taking some test drives, really hoping to find the right one soon. I know I'm looking for a TJ, 4.0L 5 or 6spd. This will mostly be a weekend fun ride for me, I have a daily that I love but want something that isn't confused by anything more rough than wet grass.
I guess I'm just saying hi, not much else to post up yet.
Does this forum have a "What to look for" type of thread for used jeeps? Or anything to help determine value? I checked one out today that seems good mechanically but has some cosmetic issues (paint breaking/chipping in spots, small rust, hard top with damaged corners etc...) and it's a pretty good price, just wanting to make sure I look for everything before I get into something too deep.
Thanks everyone, looking forward to reading and learning.
