[QUOTE=ET550;6796449]I am in CT and switched to the 24 inch model after also being unhappy with the 13in reception. The 24 inch works much better and in my opinion also looks much better than the 13 inch.
Thanks, I will try it.

|mhuebner||My Antenna X. If your 13 inch antenna does not give me the signal I am looking for, is there any other one you have that you may think would work? Or maybe I am just in a bad spot and there is nothing to be done. Thanks.|

|LemonLite||Hey Antenna X, wanted to give you a shout out. I placed my order last weekend and it was scheduled to be delivered in 3 days (problems at the post office due to holidays). Anyways, free shipping and it looks great. I already stated above that I have not experienced any loss or fading with reception up here in north country. Not to mention the product looks great. I'm going to spread the word to some of my Jeep buddies at work about your product.|

huebner - you are getting worse reception because you are using a shorter antenna. How close is your "local" station?
Lemon - Sirus does not use the regular antenna, it has a seperate one on the roll bar. If you don't use the regular radio, you might as well pull the antanna completly.

|sparky||Do use Loc-tite, you want a good metal to metal connection. This is electrical, Loc-Tite is an insulator.|

|LemonLite||I've got the 13"from Antenna X. So far so good. I've never had Sirius radio before and I haven't lost any reception. I hate regular radio and 9 out of 10 time use my iPod if not listening to Sirius. It's one of those little mods that you stare at because it looks 100x better than the original.|

|mhuebner||I talked with my installer and he said he couldn't figure why I am getting worse reception than the stock antenna. He said I should put stock back on. But its frustrating to hear that other people are getting great FM and AM reception. That is not the case with me. When I have the local love station on when Im trying to get in the mood, it ruins it.|

I installed my new 7" a few days ago !! Looks great ! ( sorry no camera )
Didn't do much for the reception, Radio still plays the same 10 songs 0ver n over n over.
Kidding aside , The reception is fine !!
By the way AntennaX, Thank you for the free shipping !! "BH"

Thanks. Was worth a shot. It's been so long since I worked on car stereos. So those two plugs all the way to the left, one is for fm and one is for am?
I know some cars use diversity with an antenna at the front and one at the back and that it can result in huge improvement. I'm thinking I'm not going to renew sirius when it's up so I want to make sure the fm is as good as possible.
I tried googling but couldn't find one, but just in case, I'll ask, does anybody know of an adapter that can "add" diversity to any radio, that is, takes two antennas, figures out better signal and sends the better one to the radio, or is diversity something that really needs to be built into the radio itself?
Edit - Never mind, I realize now the other antenna plug is for the sat radio. So only hope for diversity is if there is some aftermarket adapter.

Pretty sure the only connections on the back of the 130 and 430 are for AM/FM, Satellite, UConnect and wiring harness.

Does the wrangler have a diversity antenna?
Is there another antenna somewhere?
If not, do the 130 or 430 (I have 430N) radios at least have a plug for 2nd antenna that I could mount another antenna up in the sound bar or somewhere to improve reception should I go with a shorty and am not happy with the results?

Make sure both the antenna base is firmly screwed into the mount and make sure the antenna is firmly screwed into the base. I actually installed mine as a 3-part process. Double-sided screw first, base second, antenna third. And it works great.
Love this thing. Thanks, AntennaX!

|mhuebner||I bought the 13 inch and am not happy with it at all. I am not getting good FM reception. I get a lot of static. I bought a off brand 5 inch for my VW years ago and works perfectly. I guess I cant compare the 2, but not sure if I should go back to stock or are there other options.|

|Original Nerd||Is loc-tite needed with the install? I bought the 13" one and I am about to install it. Didn't know if hand tightened was all that is needed or loc-tite.|
