|bouche03||Anyone have problems with their RBZ 430 not recognizing their iPhone via the USB port in the front of the head unit? It charges my phone but will not let me stream music while plugged in...HELP!|

|JedFromAZ||Well I got my 430N replaced under warranty yesterday. Good news is that the maps and icons are more vivid. Bad news is that it came with the Jeep ghost image brand new from the factory. So much for Chrysler's QC. The stereo tech guy said that they should have a newer update disk in next week.|

|Navydave73||I just performed the update. Thanks to the member that reliables the download thread for the .iso file. I followed the PDF instructions exactly and it worked great. No update to the maps though. In fact my radio just hit me up to buy the new map package this morning. Thanks everyone for help and recommendations. I went from 30.xx to 50.00.07. Thanks again|

I had the same problem but my problem was because I had a mygig lockpick. I disconnected the lockpick and reconnected the radio to the stock wiring and it solved my problem. Once the radio restarted I was able to reconnect my lockpick.

Have yo tried disconnecting the battery for about 20 minutes? This sometimes will let the radio reboot. If it's still under warranty, take it back to the dealer.

|sean.busse||Hey guys, I think I really screwed up. I downloaded the update for the RHB for my father in law and the RBZ update for myself. In some sort of confusion I ran the wrong update in my RBZ and now my uconnect is stuck on the start screen no matter what I do...anybody have any ideas?|

Chrysler does not have a Gracenote update available and most likely won't. They used to offer an update disc but they discontinued it due to lack of sales.

For those of you with 430/430N radios with application version 23.04.41, who have been sitting on the fence concerning this update, do it.
I just downloaded the update using the link provided by "hgmeganet" and updated my 2011 430N. It change the background from blue/white to the preferred black/green, updated the SIRIUS radio to show the station art work. I did get the "PND did not update" message, which left my nav screen looking the way it did before the update, which is OK by me as I wasn't happy with the way the graphics looked with the black/green background.
All in all, a easy update if you follow the instructions per the Service Bulletin 08-061-13

When a call is made using Uconnect and other BT car kits, the car kit will tell the phone to place a call, the phone needs to respond back to the car kit "ok" and it starts to place the call, the car kit will then ask the phone if the call is active, the phone needs to respond back with either "active or not active", if the phone doesn't respond correctly or not at all then the car kit will say "call completed" and then tell the radio to leave the hands free mode and go back to the radio.
It is possible for the phone to incorrectly respond and the call is still active on the phone itself.
The phone also is telling the car kit about the battery and signal strength with a range from 0-5 (where 5 is the highest), I have seen where a phone has weak service and sends a 0 but it shows 1 bar. This will also cause the car kit to say "call completed" but possibly still be active (barely) on the phone. I have also seen an AT&T phone do this during a tower hand off.
@ Bad_Dog, when Uconnect says "call completed" is the call still active on the phone itself? I have seen where the call is active on the phone still after the "call completed" prompt and then while it is still active on the phone, press the Uconnect button and place a call and it goes thru. This because with the 2nd call, when Uconnect asks the phone about the call, the phone now responds that there's a call on hold and 1 outgoing active call.
So see there's a lot going on during a call or trying to place a call and each device must communicate correctly or the system won't work correctly. It's not a matter of "she's not too smart", sometimes an issue is with the phone and not the car kit.

just a couple notes here, ok.
1) As a 25 year (+) automotive electrical tech, I personally always have the engine running or have the vehicle on a battery charger during the update process. The reason for this is because any power interruptions during the process is capable of damaging the module or locking it up. So even though the instructions say "key on but motor not running" I suggest that the vehicle is in a well ventilated area and the engine running. I think that their wording is mostly to keep people from killing themself if they try to perform the update inside a garage with the engine running.
2) Chrysler probably doesn't want to pay their techs to update vehicles older than 2012. I have (as well as others) done this update on a 2011 vehicle with SW version 23.04.33 and it will work on SW versions higher than the 23.04.33 but not lower that it.

Half of an update?
Hey all, brand new to the forum, joined to reply to this thread. I downloaded and burned the .iso and the update seemed to finish properly but I have no images. the color scheme changed from blue to the black and the SW version changed but there are no brand logos or background colors like all the pictures I have seen posted. Anybody else run into this? This is an RBZ radio in a 2012 rm 3500 if it matters. The radio used to show the ram head logo and whatnot and now just a blank screen aside form the text.

|Lucy Brown||I spoke with a uconnect rep yesterday. She transferred me over to a rep that was specializing in this issue. He told me that they are mailing out new disks and that I should be getting one soon. He advised if I didn't want to wait to go to my dealer as they should have the update disk already and they could do the update for me at the dealer. Big about face from the last time I spoke with them and they flat out lied and said the old blue screen was normal to see after the update.|

|Jeepula||anyone doing this themselves its not just a burn to disc. make sure you burn the iso image right and also follow the PDF instructions. In the instructions it says turn on but not running and turn radio off first etc. RBZ and RHB also doesnt mention any jeeps before 2012.|

|WaltA||In terms of warranty coverage, I am curious to hear back what happens, when Chrysler starts finding these discs stuck in the head units, that have unauthorized software updates on them. I would be worried that once the electronics repair center starts seeing a pattern in their returns, some action will be taken by Chrysler.|

If i were looking to buy a new 430RBZ unit, and I wanted to be able to upgrade to the most current version 50xxx, do you have an idea of what build date I should look for that would allow me to do that?
in otherwords, what is the date at which the unit had the hardware that allows it to be upgraded?

Since performing the update, I've had an odd thing happen with my phone. This has happened twice so it's not a coincidence...
Get in the Jeep, start it up, and within a minute or so, I'll hit the Uconnect button to make a call. Speak the name, it reads it back and begins dialing. After ringing about once, it'll say "call completed" and the call ends. Not sure about the first time, but the second time it happened, my phone was still connected to blue tooth and it showed that the call was still active.
If I call again, either via the button and speaking the name, or selecting the person on my phone, it'll remain fine. No issues with incoming calls.
My phone is a Motorola Razr Maxx on Verizon.
Anyone else seen this?
