jeepingchester Thanks. Does anybody know what the side of the 3ply duratrac would say as opposed to the 2 ply? I mean how can I tell the difference between the two?

Kssting When I bought 35" Duratracs from Discount Tire a few months ago they were supposed to come in a load E's with 3 ply option but they could only locate load E's with 2 ply. I just checked the DT website and they don't have two options listed anymore so maybe Goodyear is selling through the 3 ply ones and not making them anymore?

I was really concerned with running a thinner sidewall so I picked up the DT replacement certificates just in case.

jeepingchester Bump. C'mon, someone must know

jeepingchester They are both load E. With all the readings I have read on tires, they say even the Dura-tracs with load range E, are 2 ply sidewalls. I'm wanting to stay away from the 2 ply sidewall. I'm looking at the 235/85/16 size. When comparing them on tirerack, they are identical except for weight. Both are E rated. Tirerack says the heavier one is 3 ply. Can anybody confirm that a duratrac can have a 3 ply side? Sorry for the links not working

jkjeeper06 Sorry no that one failed too. If they are a different load rating that could be why the ply is different

Tirerack tire comparison

On the tirerack site I'm comparing the Dura-tracs with a closeout Dura-tracs. The tires seem to be exactly the same other than the closeout set weigh in at 51# and the non-closeout at 47#. I called tirerack and the claim is the closeout set are 3 ply sidewall. On all my tire research on here no one ever mentioned the Dura-tracs having a 3 ply sidewall. Any truth to this? Here's the link http://www.tirerack.com/tires/CompareTires.jsp
