scuba_steve Mine doesn't move. I adjusted it when I bought the JKR last September and just checked today and it is still where I put it then.

Suebabe I have the opposite problem--can't get it lowered enough for my 5'2 shorter legs

flipmeover Wow... I've been trying to figure out how that's been happening. I thought it was occurring when I would pull the seat forward to let people into the back. Now I know to keep an eye out for my a** going rogue and adjusting it for me!

This is the answer... I had the same issue. I am 5'8" @ 230lbs... seems thats FAT!!! LOL either way, I was hitting it sliding out, and shifting in!

chopperbobby set it where you want it and take the handle off. when you get in and out you push down on the handle. I had the same problem in my 2010 now no problem for 2 years

dpostman Bingo! I was a little skeptical at first about reading that you all were suggesting that "I" was causing this myself... Me?.. Never!... But I guess from all the responses, looks like that is the cause. I'll probably take the handle off completely and put some sort of esthetically pleasing knob on it once it is adjusted, just to hide the metal bolt. And I'll just keep the handle in the dash somewhere.

Man I like forums.

brighton Excellent. I remember being concerned having the handle pointing straight down because I keep my fire extinguisher next to the driver's seat, but your fix will solve that problem.

This.

Handle in stock position also scrapes the side of the seat, not looking so good after some time.

With it pointing straight down (only choice) the seat will not go down far from the fully raised position.

A thread on how to hack the arm so it does not point straight down but at more like a 7 o'clock position is floating around here somewhere.

brighton My memory may be hazy, but I thought I remembered reading from someone that removed the handle, then reattached it with the handle pointing downward so you wouldn't hit it getting in and out. One of those things I was going to try, but hadn't gotten around to it.

THW Yup- you're lowering it when you get in and out. I had the same issue, and even when I was conscious of it I still kept accidentally lowering it. Try setting seat height to desired level, then removing the handle entirely (carefully pop out plastic center cap, remove T40 Torx bolt) and your seat will be permanently adjusted (until you replace the handle). Downside: it looks ugly with the handle missing.

JPWheelin You must be vertically challenged like me .

Mine does the same thing (2010). However...maybe I'm crazy but it seems the problem has gotten better after a couple of years. I find I have to correct it less. Perhaps I have just become accustomed to raising back up and I don't realize I'm doing it. (Seatbelt on, brake off, raise set up).

Brian-P Mine does the exact same thing, I've heard others complaining about it too. I have stopped trying to prop it up, I just leave it down.

Got my 2013 JKU Sahara with Dark Saddle leather almost a month ago. There have been no issues at all with it except for one very minor thing. I like to use the hand crank and raise the drivers seat to almost the highest position. But every few days, I have to raise it again because it seems to lower by itself. Is that the norm? Does anybody know if there is a mechanical adjustment that can be made to fix this?
