kenb1023 I would fold it back as well but it is a PIA to reconnect the center with the Spod Switch pannel there. I just whish it came with instructions. I think I have it on right but who knows.

wat3rdog Yeah the sag with the top on is annoying. One idea I tried was to fold it back thus doubling up over the rear. That also works well when topless too. I decided to completely remove mine and store it for the winter.
So far I really love my TA shade. It's tough and being 6'4" tall it's not an issue like some tops I have seen reviews on.

kenb1023 Tae, Keep us updated on that. I have ideas on how to fix it just not the resources to make them.

Last time I spoke with Mitch there was going to be a update to fix this problem, older tops would be able to be retrofitted.

tae73 I would say yes, because on the girlfreinds 4 door it does help.

Rabbitdave Any more updates on this product? Have a 2dr JK softtop that I like to run around without the top, but hate the wind issues with the top down. Does TA full shade help with the wind? If so, I may be sold. Can find a good solution to cutting the wind and still having room in the front two seats.

Well 6 months later, and I now realize why I don't like dealing with Northridge 4X4 in Canada. It seems they don't want my money! Never did hear back on my Trek Armor top. Oh well, they're loss, I ended up spending nearly $1400 at the competition's business instead!
I now have a sunshade from Trek Armor,(among many other items), and it looks very stout.
No less than 16 points of tether, and a very heavy, well stitched perimeter with robust straps with velcro. Will we ever see warmer weather!!!!

Sorry about your experience but we can not sell what is not available.

pepatrick Im a big fan of Trek Armor products but I gotta say I like the SWS better. I gave my TA shade away and using the SWS now.

Please post updated pics as I am deciding which shade to get this year.

igivup Northridge said they keep changing the design a bit, and they haven't seen them yet!
I have one coming as soon as they get them in.

What delivery date, the Trek Armor shade has been out for a couple of months.

How about more actual reviews of the shade from other users?

shanersrvn Can't send private messages for some reason. I don't know how to change the setting. My email is shanersrvn@hotmail.com. is it for a JKU?

Mine has new modifications, but realized I don't really need a full safari shade. Mine is up for sale and has never been installed. PM me if interested.

tae73 Ok, how are you suppose to put the freedom panels back in with the shade still in place. I cannot reach the back corner and back in latches with the top on.
08-24-2013 01:36 AM
pepatrick First impressions of the 2nd version are pretty good so far. It fits better up front and has the holes for the hard top. It actually seems to be a little loose, but it makes no flapping noise at all. Its not much different than the 1st one but somehow it is much quieter.
08-23-2013 11:12 PM
ReggieJk Same here. I also jus put hardtop back on.
08-23-2013 01:00 AM
DallasJKU I just received my revised top but won't be putting on because I just put the hardtop back on since it is in upper 90's and that's too hot for me to run a shade. I will hopefully get it on in a few weeks when the weather starts to change.

ReggieJk Yea loop the rear corner straps around the rear top seat belt bolts.
08-21-2013 08:49 PM
r3m3mb3r Yes that's what I was asking about and that may be where I'm going wrong. I have mine looped around the entire roll bar and it doesn't work too good that way. It's dark now so I'll take a look at it tomorrow. Thanks,

ReggieJk The farthest rear corners loop around the rear seat belt bolts if that's what u r asking about.
08-21-2013 07:30 PM
r3m3mb3r Can someone really explain or even better post a picture of how they have the back corners attached to the roll bar (mine looks like the earlier post right now)? I don't for the life of me see how you can use the metal clasps to tighten it up. Almost seems like something is sewn on wrong or something. I like this thing but I can't really get it tight enough for my liking. Note that I have one of the first batch and haven't received a replacement yet so it may very well be a defect.

There are gaps on sides and rear of JKini. At least on mine there is. Only an issue if sun hits it the correct way.
