|terrabit||I would suggest you consult with the spec sheet for the tires you intend to use. Also, I'm fairly certain a leveling kit would have provided the clearance needed for those tires. It wasn't so much the backspace as it was the diameter of the tire.|

|Reign||Wow thanks for your input. The wheels I am looking at only have a 4.75 BS. It sounds like 305s are definitely out of the question with that BS.|

|terrabit||Mine were 295/70/17 Toyo OC MTs with 4.5" backspace. Toyo list this as. 33x11.5 tire but, inflated, it was 33.4x11.9. I had rubbing on moderate bumps on the right fender well. Rubbing is a gentle way to put it. I think a hard bump could have resulted in my fender being violently ripped off. I have since switched to 35x12.5x17 Toyo OC MTs (34.8x13.1) on a 2.5" TF coil lift which I think will be fine until until disco at full articulation. My guess is I'll need another 1/2" lift to be safe.|

|Reign||Terrabit were your 33"s a 305 tire or a 285 tire? I am trying to find the widest tire possible with no spacers on a 4.75BS. If a 305 tire is too wide I will just do the 285. Thanks for your help.|

|terrabit||I had rubbing on the fender well with 33 without a lift in my 13' JKUR on the street.|

No you would be fine. We have done 35's and no lift... on road without issues. What you will run into is with the 4.75"BS, you might have some rubbing with a aftermarket lift on the backside of the tire.

|Reign||Jason do you think the 305s are too much without a lift and 4.75 BS. If so I will just go with the 285s|

I would be careful with the 4.75"BS. A rule of thumb on the JK's is to have a least a 4.5"BS. I know there is a lot of lifts out there that it would rub on...

|Reign||I'm really leaning towards the 33x12.5 but my concern is it rubbing with no lift or spacers. I wouldn't be off roading until I do put the lift on. So it would just be on paced roads until then.....|

|Tater Todd||Gotcha, lol. I ran 33 12.50s without the level but didn't have it off road.|

|Reign||It would Harleyrider. It's not in the budget at the moment but mainly I just don't have time to install a budget boost. Patience is not my strong point. Lol|

|Tater Todd||Would a level kit help your situation? Inexpensive.|

|dawhitesJKU||^and those are some bass a$$ tires might i add.|

I don't about the 305's but I would think if you are not going off road and had 4.75-4.5" backspacing you would be ok but I have not actually tried it so not sure.
this is 285's fully stuffed disconnected.

|Reign||Thanks for your help. Would the 305s rub with it being a daily driver and no lift or backspacing? I am just trying to get as much tire as possible.|
|06-12-2013 07:29 PM|
|jadmt||you will not rub if your sway bar links are connected but if you are disconnected you will rub at max articulation with the 285/75's.|

I am looking for input on a tire/wheel package I am interested in buying. I have a 2011 Sahara JKU. I am looking to put 16x8 Mamba MR1X wheels with 285/75R16 Duratracs or 305/70R16 Duratracs on my Jeep. The wheels have a 4.75 offset. I was wondering if they will rub with no lift or BB installed? Eventually I will install some type of lift but its not in the budget at the moment. Any help I can get is much appreciated.
