|gonmudn||I am so very excited about the copperhead color. I first fell in love with the Jeep while renting one in Hawaii back in 2011 but didn't like the lack of horsepower. Was super excited when the 2012 came out with more horsepower but was super disappointed that the burnt orange (mango tango) was discountinued. I settled for red. I told the husband that I would never trade in my Jeep unless the burnt orange color came back and guess what it did!!! I am awaiting the arrival of my new 2014 Copperhead Rubicon, which should be arriving tomorrow. Thanks for all of the great pics!|

Just in case you guys needed to see a bit more of the color. My 2013 Mega Cab. Now if I can just get the jeep painted the same color this summer.... [IMG][/IMG]

|jason mac||Jeep looks great. How does the paint match on your AEV hood? It looks like a hard color to match.|

|troymach1one||I just bought the AEV Copperhead Pearl in Keene NH, traded my 12 black sport for it. The color is amazing, Sunday was the first time I saw it. Had to have it, don't see many in that color either.|

I honk I have decided on a 2.5" lift, black rhino moab wheels 17x 9 (gloss black center with machined lip)' wrangler duratracs 315/70r17.
Next I need to decide on a front bumper. I really love the AEV front bumper, but I won't be adding a winch, so that may be overkill. I wonder how it looks if you don't install a winch, just a big gaping hole? I don't know, but I think it is one of the best looking full width bumpers available. But, very spendy, $1300 plus a lot of install work.....
Also picked up some take off Rubi rails $125. I those are any easy install. Nice quick finished look covering the side pinch seams, and basic protection. Maybe add some ace sliders later on.
Oh this wait is going to kill me.

Sweet. Thanks for posting that ad with pictures.
I think the AEV add ons added $12k to the price, at least. Those dealers really like to mark up the add ons.
Love the Pintler wheels, duratracs and AEV front bumper.
Just ordered mine 9 days ago. In D1 status and sitting.

Congrats, I think you made the right move for you!
For me the rubicon made since, especially since it would take 7-10k in the aftermarket area to bring it up to the rubicon. Aside from the electronic sway bar disco (im removing it and replacing with JKS Quick Disconnects because i dont trust the e-sway disconnect)
Rubicon Comes with E-Lockers Front and rear
Dana 44 front Axle
"Electronic Sway Bar disconnect"
4:1 transfer case
and if you care:
the alpine audio system, which i would be kicking my self for spending the money on that turd of a system. Aside from a tiny bit more bass it doesnt sound ANY better then my brothers stock JKs system. I knew it was going to be bad, i didnt think it was going to be THIS bad.
Congrats on the new jeep! Just an FYI this color is not a photo genic color..Photos just dont do it any justice

Thanks for the feedback. I did research and shopping today. Getting more than a $2000 discount on a sport here in the land where the Jeep JKU is a hugely popular vehicle appears close to impossible. Once you read the fine print or determine that most of the rebates don't apply, the $3000 discounts won't happen.
No dealer here has a copperhead pearl jeep on their lot, and none on order or in transit.
I was able to order one below invoice. Copperhead Pearl, Sport S, auto, Uconnect 430 Cd/screen/Nav, alpine premium stereo with Sirius, premium soft top, connectivity pkg, max tow pkg with 3.73 gearing, and track-lock or tru lock rear axle. I may have left something off. Went with the soft top because all I would do is pay $995 for the hard top, remove it, store it, and pay another $900 for a soft top. The weather here in the AZ is perfect for soft top and we drive our TJ around top off or down all the time, so I knew better than to go with the hard top here. Always garaged as well.
The wait has begun.....11/7/2013.

I'm not mechanical, so take this part with a grain of salt...
To me it sounds like you'll be much happier with a Sport that you mod yourself. You made a good case against a Rubi for every feature you mentioned.
I don't believe you can get heated seats from the factory withOUT leather. But I believe you can add heated seats to cloth from the dealership.
This last part I do know pretty well. LOL. Check your local craigslist for Rubi rails. You can find brand new takeoffs for a fraction of what you'll pay from the factory. And if you're not sure what sliders you're going to get yet, why pay so much and then have to take them off and sell yourself later?
Good luck with your choice!

Getting ready to place an order on a Copperhead Pearl.
I still have a few questions to be answered,
I am going for a JK unlimited, Copperhead pearl!, sport 24S package, automatic, premium soft top, upgraded alpine stereo and 420 gb display/nav radio, sirius radio, 3.73 axle/towing package. Uconnect package. Would like heated seats but don't know if that is available on non leather sport.
I am positive that I will have to order this combination. I don't need the hard top here in AZ, if I did I would have to remove it, buy a softtop and store the hardtop. ( I know because I do this for the TJ now).
Not sure if adding Rubicon rails is worthwhile either.
I will be lifting it 2.5" to 3.5" and adding 33" to 35" tires and upgraded wheels, and probably a nice front bumper, and rock rails, but leave everything else alone.
Any suggestions are welcome. I may order it tomorrow or in the next few days.,
Any expectation what I should pay below invoice? I have seen prices about 10% below retail sticker, maybe a little Less on Rubicon, but I just don't see any real benefit on the rubicon, you still have to spend $4000 over the sport, and add another $500 for the 4.10 gearing, and only get the improved stereo and axles that I don't need or can add on the sport. Rubicon stickers are not worth $4000. Not sure if adding Rubicon rail option is worthwhile, lots of other rails available. I would still need to replace tires, wheels and lift on the Rubicon, which is why it seems like a waste of $ to me, I just have to forgoe the status of The Rubicon sticker.
I have had good experience doing moderate 4 wheeling with the TJ with 3.0 or so gearing, and it works fine. And I won' t be doing any real rock crawling with this Jeep, just easy to moderate four wheeling. So I think going sport and optioning up a little is a good fit.
Have I made case for spending less and going with a well optioned sport with 3.73 gearing?

There's just something about a jeep with black fenders and top for me. They just look mean or tough.
But they are all jeeps, and they are all beauties!

|Dr.Ew||One quick observation between a 2001 TJ with a soft top and 2014 Rubicon with the Premium top: On the way to the dealership I measured the noise in my TJ at approximately 95 dB doing 65 miles an hour. In the JK is measuring close to 81 dB. What a difference!|
