OverkillYJ If you don't Offroad regularly though I would get the posi kit. You will get slight vibes at highway speed with the cad locked, and reduce gas mileage by about .02 if I remember correct. You get the cons of the solid axle without the pros.

871kevin Just remove the snap rung in the cad. Move the actuator over and put the snap ring back in. Its like solid axle

Then just go with the CAD posi cable. Biggest benefit to solid axle is being able to use the greasable axle tube seals. They wont fit a split axle. As far as anything with strength, if you dont wheel it it will be fine for you for years.

RockinWrangler77 I was thinking the same by switching the 2 piece out with a shaft from a 99 xj but are the putter splines that go to the hub bearing the same as mine now?

OverkillYJ If your current seals are good, why are you not going with the POSI lock cable kit to replace the vacum lines? Do you offroad much?

adhammer I don't have any plans for lockers, its a daily driver and my vacumm acuater is pretty much done, and I want to get rid of that system all together. My shift forks wasn't getting pulles all they way over and it'd make a grinding noise from my front. So I'm figuring something got messed up.

OverkillYJ Do the seal at the diff house. If you do it at the cad like some people say the axle will chew it up pretty fast. The reason is because it is not machined for a seal in that location. The only seals I could find that fit were the Napa seals. Also, get the solid axles off later xjs since they have larger ujoints. And one more big thing is to get the outer axle seals. I am talking about the greasable ones for the ends of the axle tubes to keep mud and water out. Then your seals should last for years. If you have any plans for a locker this would be a good time too.

jokerchief462 Read through this and it will explain what you are looking for. TJ shafts are what we all are changing to. New seal in a new location after all the CAD stuff is removed.
