anotheridiot we had a diagnostic port by the passenger side hood hinge on the 90 that we had adapters from an old brick modis to hook up to, it was right above two relays.

This. There are no codes. The only light you'll get is to replace the O2 sensor which should be done no later than 88,500 miles.

YJ diagnostic port

Does the 1988 YJ have a diagnostic port? If so, is it OBDI, OBDII? What information can be obtained from it? Trying to track a miss/stumble and having no luck. Thought it might be a sensor or something. Replaced ignition module, coil, coil connector, plugs, wires, dist cap/rotor, and fuel filter. Also have to install dist pick up coil.
