I was able to downloaded a set of installation instructions for the JK from Spidertrax, and they specify 90lbs w/ thread-locker or locktite..etc, and a re-torque on the bolts with 80lbs at 50 miles or 80kms. Those that feel loose you have to take them off and re-apply thread locker, and torque them back at 90lbs...re-check at 80kms again with 80lbs torque setting.

Just wondering if you guys know what the proper amount of Torque is for the bolts...I keep reading that 120 lbs is where you want to be..Is this true? And, does this apply to both the spacer to studs, and rim to spacer?
A few people have mentioned 90lbs, 100lbs, 120lbs....what is the magical number?

|michiganadam||Well, i wanted to use different wheels so i could keep the street tires for winter tires because i was told 33x12.5s sucked in the winter. But now I see that a stack of 5 tires sitting in my garage is sort of unbarable. But they were brand new tires and i didnt know wtf to do with them otherwise.|

Doesn't HAVE to be hub centric, but if I was choosing, that's the way I'd go.

Sometimes i think the excessive backspace from the factory was done to cause us to put bigger tires on them because they knew they looked funny stock........
Your jeep looks very nice with those spacers. Remember to retorque them soon. I would suggest retorquing several times more than the instructions say, to be safe, since there's no way to tell if they're coming loose or not, without pulling the wheels...
I simply bought wheels as the spacers wouldve cost almost as much as the wheels i bought. But i had steel wheels and i have steel wheels now. I might not have done that if i had a rubicon.

OK, installed the spacers last night after work. Stupid easy to install and took a total of about an hour. The worst part of the install was removing the clips that hold the brake rotors in place. Two clips on each front rotor, four clips on each rear rotor. 80 to 90 ft-lb torque per the included instructions.
Two observations -
1. I really LOVE the slightly more aggressive look. Why didn't Jeep do this from the factory?
2. The ride does seem more stable. There's a lot of twisty roads in my part of the country and these really help make the Jeep feel more "planted". Even my wife commented on it.

Dont use lugcentric spacers. I run lugcentic wheels but they have to be retorqued a couple times after i change one. Kinda hard to retorque a spacer though lol.
There are disadvantages but other than retorquing the nuts, id say its the same as lower backspace wheels. Which put additional stress on everything connected. I wouldnt worry much about it.

I installd mine almost 5000 miles ago. No problems, and my Jeep handles better. I also put 33x12.5x15 wheels/tires on at the same time. Mine is also Commando Green 2dr. I dont know how to post pics, but if you pm me your number, I can send some pics.

So UPS dropped the spacers off (late - after 8PM) last night. I'll be installing them after work today and will let everyone know.

|mike1158||i pretty sure a set of TF 1.25" are in my future. I already SLIGHTLY upgraged the tires to 275/65-18 Grabbers ...same height as stock... I'm pretty sure i'll never lift it or go with bigger tires.. THe Jeep is actually my work truck.. i do 500-600 miles a week and it is just fine as is for what i need.. I just want to add spacers to widen the stance a bit....|

|Abnormal-JK||Did mine to 100... and simply dropped a 1/2" punch into the rotor to keep them from spinning... remember to recheck all lugs after a couple hundred miles.|

Might be a stupid question -
I'm expecting the spacers by the end of the week and have an installation question or two.
1. What torque spec should these be installed with? I've heard 125 ft-lb and I've heard 90 to 100 ft-lb.
2. This might be a dumb question and I feel stupid for asking but how do you keep the rotor from turning while trying to torque the nuts when the front end is in the air? I figured in the rear, I can use the e-brake from letting the wheel/hub spin. Should I be in 4wd before parking the Jeep to do this?
