30 is probably right on what you need.
The pressure on the sidewall is the max pressure to use for max load...
I run my 31's at 29-30psi myself.

|Jsb0032||I have a couple pressure gauges. I usually just use a coin for tread tho. What pressure should I run on the street? I have 30psi in all corners. This is what I usually run in all my cars but I have seen that most AT tires say 50psi. Am I under inflated? I have 30x9.5 but with a load they only measure 28" tall.|

|McDaniel||if it were me, I would take it to a tire shop and buy 5 new tires and get an alighnment. If it needed other items like shocks i would address those issues too. I would then have starting point to work with. A good tread depth gauge and pressure gauge are must haves for me.|

|wwch99tj||It wouldn't hurt to have things checked out... Probably putting it on in the alignment machine would give you a better idea if the axle is out of alignment? Maybe also try jacking it up and see if you can wiggle the wheels maybe the wheel bearings are bad?|

|Jsb0032||Any thoughts after having pics to evaluate? I need to get this issue fixed before getting new tires. If it is a rotation problem I won't take it in but if I'm looking at bent axle or suspension I need to have a mechanic look at it before I get tires.|

I should add:
I neglected my last tire rotation by quite a long ways and my right rear is now considerably more worn than the other three... Not this bad though.

that would have to be some serious over inflation. and PO says 30psi, so we know that surely isn't the case..... Maybe something is affecting the alignment causing the tire to be dragged along so to speak (effectively scrubbing it), but then maybe you'd see that something was out of alignment that bad? and why would it scrub the center if it's only running 30psi?
I've seen it on an old van my dad had, which was way different than a Jeep, but that was a bent axle shaft. Threw oil all over and scrubbed the tire in figures few......
Like I said, the Jeep is a different beast entirely with far more components in the mix, so by no means am I offering a diagnosis. Just my thoughts.

You don't really, only once on the jeep as to purchase all new tires at the same time. That doesn't mean it's necessary. My BMW has staggered wheels, granted it's IS, but I do zero rotations no problem. I also didn't rotate when I didn't have staggered setup, simply replaced rear 2x more often than fronts. But again, all RWD with LSD. My Rubi has the LSD, not sure if other tj's with D44 do.

If the wear on the tire itself is even, it's either dragging or planting. I would think bad shocks would be irrelevant to the issue. Same tire pressure all 4 corners?

|Big Sarge||it could very well contribute to it. Sounds like not much maintenance was performed on your Jeep previously. Shocks and rotating tires are some basic things.|

|Jsb0032||As much as I enjoy the LSD debate I think my problem is more than just rotating tires. This lil 4-banger has as much power as my bicycle and can't spin a tire on ice. Like i said i have put 10k on it driving easy and have severe wear. Much worse wear than any other tire i have ever had and like many ppl have mentioned BFGs should last. I was looking at my shocks and noticed that the rt rear has oil all over it like it may be busted. Could a bad shock cause excessive tire wear?|

Ever seen a hooptie burn out? A one tire fire? AKA, burning out with an open diff? You make a 1. As in, only one tire burns rubber. Every time you floor it, the same tire may often be the one that gets more juice, therefor, wearing faster as OP opined. An LSD makes 11's, not 1's, therefore rotation not needed nearly so often. I only do front to rear.

I have a LSD in my Dana 44 but I still rotate every time I change the oil...it is part of the "lifetime road hazard rotation and balance warranty" all it costs now is my time.
