I would say to watch kijiji and Craigslist. But you can also check the for sale section on expeditionportal as well as steelsoldiers. They aren't very common and seem to be found in one of two conditions...very rough with lots of rust or pristine with a high asking price. And yes, don't be confused with the American M101 as they are too large for jeeps.

Cheers

I would guess there is some interference but I don't run full time with the highlift mounted. It will be mounted for trips only and eventually on the rear with a new bumper.

erickpl The comparable American trailer would be the M416.

The M101 (US) is designed for being pulled behind bigger vehicles like trucks.

Well thanks for the complement, I feel like it's undeserved in comparison to some other projects but I'll take it nonetheless

I have a M101CND (canadian). It's a completely different trailer than the American M101....A1-5. The 1-5 distinguish the generation of trailer. The A1 had no brakes and brakes started with A2 along with different wheels ect. I wish I had a link with the changes for you but I can't find it.

Now for your question...those are great trailers...but not for a jeep (my opinion). They are too big and heavy. Now having said that, guys will use them behind a jeep (stock) and some guys change out the axles, drop a leaf spring or two and change the wheels/rubber ect. to help with weight.

Rack Ops I wish I was half as talented as some of the folks on this forum.

What a cool project

The General Spent a few minutes in the garage this morning. Used up a few things I had laying around...a caster wheel to help rolling it around while in the garage...probably won't help much in dirt or gravel due to its size. Added an old cargo net to the roof for storage and found another use for some quick fists that I bought a while back.

Thanks bud. Good luck in your search...they aren't very common anymore that's for sure.

The General Tired of never having a set place to keep my shovel on the 101 so I put a couple quick fists and hose clamps to use.

The General I think legally I need to have lights covered...it was an excuse to order something anyway.

The General I thought I would update this thread with a few little things I've added to the set-up. I have a hi lift that's about 2 years old but brand new because I never take it with me...I've never actually found myself in a situation that my winch or a shovel couldn't get me out of...anyway...these tubular mounts will work awesome when on trips and the hi lift is easily removed to be left in the garage when not needed.

The General I used the trailer a lot this summer and it worked like a charm, no leaks and it pulled great.

Added a few things to it...2 Kolpin fuel canisters for emergency and finally finished up the rack. The Kolpins were on sale for 30$/each and I was able to build the rack for 105$ (I had the basket from previous jeep).

The trailer is aprox. 775lbs, but I move it around by hand and it doesn't seem that heavy. The lid adds another 80lbs or so.

Well I bought this mostly as a cool toy to use for camping. Ill put some Thule trays on the rack and carry mine and my gf's mnt and road bikes. I do adventure races and have to travel for them and I hate how the vehicle is so overly packed full. This will help to organize and simplify
