|The_Chief||I'm the OP... I actually want the louder tire... I don't care about mileage, directional, etc... but I need to know if most people like the tone of the MTZ... My buddy has the Nitto Mud Grappler, and while they are a little louder than my KM2's, the tone is annoying...|

|whiteyjfm||We have the KM2's now and they are not loud at all. You can here them but it is not bad. We do run without the top 90% of the time so tire noise is not the noise we heard to most.|

|fireron||Are the KM2's even available in a 37 right now?|

|mackdj1||What kinda mileage are you all getting out of your km2's? Compared to other tires you've run? Don't mean to hijack the thread|

I have the Cooper variant of the MTZ, the STT. Cooper owns MT. Anyway, I don't think they are bad. I think they are quieter than my previous MTR's. I too am curious about the difference between these and the KM's. Think you need to find another Jeeper who is running the tires and go for a ride. Sound can be subjective and you need to decide for yourself.
BTW, recently announced that Cooper has been bought up by a company in India leaving Goodyear as the sole remaining, major, US based tire manufacturer. If I'm not mistaken Cooper owns or makes Mickey Thompson, D Cepek and ProComp tires. I think some others too.

|mackdj1||I have the KM2s. Don't find them noisy at all...just a mild drone. Nothing to even relly complain about.|

|dundonm||I run nothing but MTZs so I really cannot compare them to the sound, when new they have a low mild drone, not to bad. Not overly loud in the cabin with a soft top at highway speed. When worn down and cupped at 65mph you cannot hear anything and can be heard miles away.|

I have the KM2s and up to 60 - 65 MPH (have not gone faster than that yet), you can hear a low drone / hum, but it is off in the background. It certainly is not loud enough to prevent conversation, and if you have the radio on, you might not even hear it, but it is there in the background.

|jpedmundson||I've never had MTZs but I did have KM2s on my last jeep. They had a nice subtle hum but do loud roaring. Riding in the jeep, you could tell they were mud tires but they didn't overwhelm the cabin with noise. I know a guy who had BFG ATs that were louder than my KM2s.|

I thought this thread was going to be someone answering this question, not asking it.
I'm in the exact same spot. Going to 37s, cant decide MTZs or KM2s.
Leaning toward Km2s, because of the weight savings.

Sound Test: MTZ's vs. KM2's
...Firstly, which ones are louder by sheer volume? Secondly, which has a higher tone?
I need to decide, but I need help first. This is only based on sound. I do not care whatsoever about longevity, etc... Thank you all in advance!
