I am new to Jeeps especially the 47 Willys I just got. I restored a 51 Farmall and was extremely proud of it but the Willys was an even swap even though I told the older gentleman he was on the loosing end of the deal, he still insisted on the deal. The 47 runs great. 4 cyl flathead. No brakes at all. Very solid find. looks to be a relative easy job but I have never touched one so I will be bending a few ears if yall don't mind. my son ships to Afghanistan on july 4th. He is a Marine in the 2nd tank battalion so we want to make this a WWII USMC replica and tribute to my uncle who as a Marine helped take Tarawa and Tinian but also my uncle August Copelo. POW/MIA. Death March of battan and lastly my other uncle JE Davis 99th infantry Battle of the Bulge. I know that's army and marines but hey, my boy is a US Marine so that's a given. Anyway howdy from southern WV and God bless you.
