Rubi513 Hmm. Jk with 3.8 vs tj rubicon with 4.0, lockers, and rocktrac transfer case. I would take the Rubi, but I might be a little bias

Lutzkanin If you tend to drive on the highway a lot. You need a jk. I'm a tj owner and when I make 3hour trips on the highway I wish I was in a jk.
however, my tj is very easy to work on. And I'm running a 2.5inch lift and 1.75inch BL and 1inch mml. I run 33s

You will love what ever you get. However, I hear that the early year jk's have a weak engine. Also, if you are looking tj's look for one with the Dana 44 rear Axel. Also be weary of lifted jeeps. Some can be simply....crap....

Rubicons are simply what what you want.

I think you will love either one. I love my tj, but I know in a few years I'll be looking at a jk.

Hope this helped!

03 sahara jeeper I have a 03 tj Sahara and it has done me well. I just know what my limitations are. There are times when lockers would help. I have never driven a jk, so I can't help there. Hope this helps.

03 sahara jeeper A jk sits higher than a tj. What are you going to use the jeep for.

Buy jk or tj

So im still looking for jeeps. My dad is helping and made an offer on a 2007 wrangler x with many quick order packages like tow group, and many others. I want a tj Rubicon but which is better here? Both have the 4.1 gears but the x is already lifted but has a 35 rear axle. Should I hold out for a tj rubi. Or look at JK rubi. Any comments, advice, or insightful experiences are appreciated. Also why is 4 inches of lift recommended for a tj on 33 tires but 2.5 or lower for a JK? Thanks.
