jlaskin Also was that a custom order or a purchase of a jKRUX already on the NC dealer's lot? Thanks again!

jlaskin So you drove down to NC or was able to arrange the order and sale by phone? Anything I need to know regarding tax differences and applying NYS plates after the out of state purchase? That sounds so amazing! No local dealer here on Long Island would dare come close to such an amazing deal thank you for the tip. Name of dealer and contact if possible would be greatly appreciated thank you!

Good deal

You did good on your base price .. now start adding all the fun MODS to it … I have close to 60 in mine.. yikes!! I am building my 6th wrangler and started with a JKURX as a base then started adding .. my wife wants to kill me…...

DarkStorm Just bought a JKRUX from a dealer down in NC. They deliver free to NY. I saved about $5k compared to the dealers here on LI. Paid $1k under invoice. Under $39k for X with a few options, soft top only.

jlaskin Also having difficulty time negotiating with dealers in my area as they all demand full retail on Rubicon X. I live on Long Island 11050 Port Washington in New York. What should I be paying for Rubicon X? Any dealers to recommend on our behalf? Are deposits refundable and what amount should that be on average? Thanks again for any feedback or advise anyone can provide

jlaskin Just saw a modified Freedom addition in Hydro Blue with black rear hard top. Fenders are Hydro Blur matching body however. They lifted the Wrangler Unlimited Oscar Mike 2 inches, added the same front and rear steel bumpers/rock rails from the Rubicon X, larger rims with 35" tires, a winch and extra search lights on grill as well as by the drivers side door as well as black steel gas cap from Rubicon X. This dealer modified Jeep on Long Island in New York is going for $48000 vs $35000 usual Freedom tag without the mods. They seem flexible possibly down to $45/46000. We only are considering this since Hydro Blue is still not available on the Rubicon X and we really like this color. Would it still ride with the lift and larger tires similar to the Sport/Sahara? We actually prefer a slightly calmer ride. Is it the slip differential in the back of the Rubicon or the larger 32 in off road tires that make the ride slightly more vibrating on road? Seems like this mod although looking really nice may be a bit overpriced and not as valuable compared to just getting an X. It also comes with the premium audio and navigation along with standard Freedom leather trim/cloth seating, don't think they're heated. Thanks for any advice or input this forum can provide. Also any word on when the eco diesel may be packaged with the newly redesigned Wrangler Unlimited in the works? Thoughts on this vs. existing Wrangler as well are greatly appreciated

That is great news. Now I wish you could get it in Gecko Green or Plum Crazy!

Yep, I was wondering the same thing. Also, are they going to continue the line next year?

True. That bugs me and probably most of the others on this forum. But, seeing that they're currently at build capacity, they can help keep the prices down (or more accurately improve their margins via supplier volume) if they can manufacture runs of specific packages that look like "a special deal". It's a bit gimmicky and if they go too far it will appear tacky and that's not good branding, IMHO. I liken that to GM's sticker-label-badge "engineering" in the 80s.

I have a 2011 Call of Duty Rubicon, stick, fully loaded.
Nicest Jeep I have ever owned.
I love it!

BigChief1 Loved the Anvil when I first saw it on the 10A and still think it the best color this year. So I'm up in PA for an adventure race this weekend and what pulls up next to us, a 2014 JKUR in anvil - now the wait is really killing me more.

Nice!! What color did you get? Make sure to post your pics once you pick it up...I'm gonna wait a few more months before I pull the trigger.

I used one of the no name ones from eBay. They work well and only cost about $20. I did all the Lockpick and wiring myself, it's pretty easy.

You'll either have to get one of the Commander/Grand Cherokee cameras and have the dealer activate it or use a Lockpick and aftermarket camera. I went the second route because the pricing was in the same ballpark and the Lockpick unlocks all the features of the nav, including input and DVD for passengers while in motion. Heres a couple pics of what mine looks like after being all setup.

Personally, I would never do my own work to the truck as I just am not handy enough. If you know how to do everything yourself, it makes little sense to buy anything other than a Sport S or Rubi and do all the work yourself. Some of us just aren't like that though...Plus I'd rather have all this stuff covered under warranty. Just my 2 cents...

kevinwiningar Just ordered an X. Now the excruciating wait.
