Pasting the partial link off the message into a browser got the same ad.
When i went to reply to the message using [Quote] virtual button, I then saw the enitre address and pasting it into a browswer worked fine. I didn't try cliccking the link from "Reply to Threaad".

Sleeping Princess OHV Trail
We went to Laughlin Tuesday and stumbled upon Sleeping Princess OHV Trail. It's gnarley with some great views to the west. It does not degenerate to ATV whoop-dee-doos 4 feet wide but it DOES degenerate enough to satisfy all but the most hard core rock hopper.
It's on the AZ side and is a jeep trail alternate over the mountain. Sign warns of body damage. I scraped bottom a few times in a pure stock Rubi 4-door and spent about 20 minutes engineering the worst spot.
I know this thread is stale so I'll post a pic link on the AZ sub forum and start a thread with a link to it in the NV sub forum...
...if we don't go to Moab.

|groovebus||I saw it in March. It's an easy drive, mostly an old truck road. The turn off for the rock carvings is on GrapeVine Canyon. It's the first left after you turn into the lake mead preserve. There is a really nice, clean bathroom there. FYI. After that it climbs up into some cool looking hills.|

|Xodius||I want to hit this trail again and see if I can find that old boot hill that is up there. I have looked a couple of times but have not found it. Has anyone else found it?|

Mostly Federal govt owned land in the area. Make sure you stay on legal designated roads or active powerline roads. If a Park Ranger finds somebody where they are not supposed to be, they will impound your vehicle, quad, dirt bike, etc. and fine you.
Between Christmas Tree Pass and Laughlin you will see many powerline roads off the highway. Try any of those out for some nice scenery & interesting areas.
I have been through Christmas Tree Pass in our 1997 Geo Prizm. Beautiful and very special area for many people.

I haven't been through Christmas Tree Pass in decades. It's pretty mellow, I think a pickup could do it. If one has an extra hour or two between Laughlin and Vegas it's not to be missed.
Don't let anyone throw away any old Christmas tree ornaments - bring them with you to decorate pine trees you can reach from your jeep window.
There are some sandy trails on the Arizona side towards Katherine's landing.
There are trails on the Nevada side south of Cottonwood if you want to stray a little further afield. Go north to Searchlight and turn east. After you crest the hill take the towerline road southeast and there are marked trails leading to Lake Mojave.
This is a great opportunity for high clearance vehicles since there is very little land access to Lake Mojave, and you can have a whole beach all to yourselves. Just recently we went down one trail and the water was so low we drove the lakeshore to the end of another trail to get back. This might not be legal since, between the trails we used there was a trail ending at the water that had fencing along the shore, so we continued to the next trail end and it had shore access. Even if legal, this is not recommended when the water's up: Supposedly there's an outfit in Laughlin with an old Army deuce-and-a-half that'll recover you out of the boonies for $2k.
There are also some dirt roads north of Cottonwood Road.
Cottonwood Road is paved to Cottonwood Resort on Lake Mojave which has a store and a restaurant and other facilities if needed.

|raythom3||It's on my list but haven't taken it just yet. Not that long of a trail over into Laughlin from I can remember when I was down there for Bike Week.|
