|rmloke1||make sure you have an impact drill to get the rusted bolts out, and go slow. It takes some time if you have a lot of rust like I did.|

|fire66dave||Next question then:: to pull the dash? Anyone have some tips?|

|petercass88||I just ordered up new speakers. 4x6 kickers for the dash and 6x9 infinity marine speakers for my speaker boxes that mount behind the front part of the roll bars. I will take pics when all put together, I pulled the dash. I will be re-lining the dash with monstaliner and neoprene to waterproof it so I didn't bother with marine speakers up front.|

And you can see what you are doing to make sure they are secure and the the wires will all get tucked away. Behind the dash marine speakers arent too important. I went with regular Pioneer 3 way speakers over a year ago and they are fine. I am always topless, have been caught in some bad storms, and covered the ends of the dash in mud, no problems yet.|

|reno92||I did mine also without pulling the dash although on the driver side I did unbolt the parking brake. I used Polk 4x6 marine speakers, they sound good. One thing that helped me was to take the old speakers and lay them on my new speakers to make sure the holes lined up, I had to drill a couple new holes in the Polks but they slipped right in after,|

|ChicoJeepy||So you don't have to pull the dash? Both of my front speakers are shot and I have my top off all the time|

You don't have to pull the dash. I did mine with the dash in place. It's not a lot of fun however. They are 4x6 speakers. You may want to use a marine speaker if you go topless a lot.
Everyone has their own preference for speakers. I went Alpine coaxial and I'm happy with the oomph. Course I also have a soundbar with 5.25 coaxials.

Ok, just hit me with it... I gotta pull the dash to replace my front speakers? And do they make a GOOD speaker with punch that fits there?
