a thief would never "find" my keys.
I'm not a mindless jackass that leaves things lying around.
So, to get to my keys the thief would have to be in my pocket or in my bedroom.
Unless the thief is a gorgeous brunette, that won't be happening either.

But I'll humor you.
If a thief got ahold of my keys and found my rig,
they'd have to get around my 120lb German Sheppard without loosing a limb first.
If they were able to pull that one out of their butt,
then a good ol thing that we call insurance kicks in.
And as far as them having my home address, that's fine.
I'm sure one of the assault rifles just might deter them from any further stupidity.

But hey,
thanks for look'n out for my best interests there Sparky.
You're number one!

rrich The remote start is very handy. Keep the control on your key ring, just like a remote alarm.

When a thief finds or steals your keys, it helps him identify which vehicle he has now.

And - even handier - once he's inside he has your home address - and the keys!

To help him even further, leave your ATM card on the dash with the PIN number - he'll need gas.

That's good to hear.
I'll consider the remote start now.
It guess it would be nice to have in the winter for the heat and defrost.
It may be nice in the summer too if your top is on and it's 110°+ in your rig.
I can see the benefit of cooling it off for a minute or two before you get in and get the sh*t burnt out of yourself!

HVAC Controls Left In The "ON" Position

I have a 98 Sahara w/ac and the old slider controls.
I'm toying with the idea having an alarm installed to help protect some of the money that I've put into my Rig.
The guys down at the shop are trying to talk me into spending a little extra to get the kind with the proximity sensors and remote start.
I agree 100% on the proximity sensors, but remote start? I don't about that crap.
It's not that much more, I just don't really see myself using it very much.
If I did, it would just be to defrost my windows in the winter.

That brings me to my question:
Will leaving your HVAC controls in the "on" position harm anything?
(Whether it's the heater, vent, OR air conditioning)
Those guys at the shop say no,
but they don't really care if anything gets ruined,
just as long as they get the bigger sale, ya know?
I've heard from some people that it's not good to leave controls on when you shut down and start your engine.
Others swear that it doesn't harm anything.
What do you think about it?
