I use it on my jeep. It's not as bright as it said. More like direct flashlight pointing. At first i have to trim so it snap in place. but nice and white though. If you plan to have led headlight, it would match.

Thanks Jim,

I guess since it is LED bulb, it will last much longer than the tradition OEM light bulb... For about $30, I guess I'd give it a try.

Cheers,

Up Hill Bill OEM fog light (PSX24W) is rated at 900 lumens. The eBay listing says the CREE LEDS are "Lumen: nearly 500LM." What am I missing here? How can they be brighter than the OEMs?

dont do it. its dangerous for oncoming drivers and other drivers in front of yout. HIDs should ONLY be used in projectors, NEVER in reflection housings. only time you should ever use HIDs in reflector housings is with off road only lights that are only being used off road without drivers in front of you. you can and will blind them and you could cause and accident. i cant count the number of times iv almost wrecked because people made the poor and dangerous choice of putting HIDs in reflector housings

JeeperJake My 08 required replacing fog bulbs with a really good yellow fog bulb. IIRC, the 08 had "35W" bulbs but the newer JK have "17W" or some such.

That was 'almost' good enough after my careful bulb change, but not quite.....and I don't think "17W" would do the trick for me either.

When I upgraded to Daniel Stern's wiring/headlight set up, I bought the truly magnificent upgrade units that mount on the bumper. Current draw exceeds the OEM harness, and care must be taken to not fry stuff.

Between the mounts, special chromatic yellow lenses, mutant ninja fog bulbs, that added about $350 to the rest of my light upgrade.

Go read up on Daniel Stern lighting pitch, it's a REAL education.

I didn't anticipate spending so much....but now have the absolute best lighting I've ever had on any rig.

Don't know about the wiring needs of the newer JKs. Read before you cook something.

unusedusername Define a ton of money...

The problem with the stock foglights is that the housings suck.

Putting new bulbs in the horrible stock housings won't help, and better housings are not cheap.

Are there any fog light upgrades for the 2010 jk that don't cost a ton of money?
