NCN8 Got the coopers on, 3 shocks mounted, steering stabilizer on, sway bushings changed....waiting on the machine shop to extract the right rear shock bolts.....

Lowrollin12 I had to deal with this when I did my Rock Krawler short arm kit. I used an air hammer to blast the nuts off the frame and then I cut a C notch (so the top of the shock has room) out of some box metal I welded the nuts to it. Then, it took time I used the bracket to hold the nuts in place and bolted it up. Problem solved and next time it wont rust up so bad and break off. (I hope)

That an easy out or left twist drill bit. If you break the easy out off you won't be able to remove the bolt with a regular bit.

mikemounlio Go to local lowes or homedepot or something. They make a kit that drill into the broken bolt then u reverse the drill and it grabs the bolt and backs it out.

Its a bit tricky bit it works. PB the crap outta them starting now tho.

Drilling out the bolts will be more work and not solve the problem long term.

XDR Mine did the same , I installed a bar pin elim kit from terra flex. To remove stubs I lifted tub and knocked weld nuts off with air hammer the replaced with regular nuts.

ChaddG do you have enough bolt left to put two nuts together and turn the one closest to the body? You may have to drill and tap. There is literally no room to do anything but drill and tap. Mine came out easy, 12 years old with wisconsin winters and 4 million tons of salt.

NCN8 Shakin my head....no not hydraulics. Skyjacker Hydro 8000's. As well I have a steering stabilizer and both sway bar bushings coming in. And the big brown truck is delivering some Cooper Discoverer STT TEK3's.

NCN8 That's what I was afraid of. I hate pulling full tanks. Had to on my 05 Cummins and it was 35+ gallons....

JimsJeep I drilled mine out and re-tapped them to the next size up. The only bitch is the fuel tank really needs to be pulled

And so it begins...

In preparation for the Hydros and other parts I started stripping the jeep....front shocks came out easily with the help of the saws all. The rears were pb blasted and the left came out easily. The right ........ Both bolts broke off. Any advise getting the stubs out? Thinking I may take it to the machine shop down the road....but open to ideas.

Is it normal for the body to act like a bobble jeep without the shocks on? Seems like the springs are "extra" springy. The jeep is very young to have tired springs. But this is my first and I don't know what "normal" is
