That's good to hear, and thanks for the tip.
I'm very happy with 33's, I don't plan on changing from them. If anything, next tires will be 10 1/2's instead of 12 1/2's. In my driving, I haven't seen any advantage to the wider tires.

|1BLKJP||With 33's it'll last longer than normal. If you engage the ebrake a few clicks it will help that trac loc engage.|

So I heard noises coming from my Jeep. When ever I let off the accelerator, I heard a scraping kind of sound, like "shish-shish-shish".
Thought at first, "u-joint". Crawled under and checked 'em all, nothing loose, no visible u-joint failure. Checked brakes. Checked drive shafts. checked belt. etc.
Took to mechanic.
Where I thought I heard the sound....wrong.
Rear end, instead of front.
Driver side inner axle bearing grenaded. It took out spider gears, pinion bearing, carrier, and driver side - outside shaft bearing surface. It's possible not all the damage was from that one bearing failure, but likely.
What I learned: Even if you're pretty sure of where the noise came from, check everywhere else anyways. Sounds are misleading. All it would-a taken was for me to jack up the rear onto stands and checked. Probably would-a saved myself a couple-a-hudred $$$$. On the other hand, I probably wouldn't have done as thorough of an inspection as my mechanic and would've had future problems because of it. Lesson learned.
Benefit: for the extra $30, I'll have posi in the rear now. Let's see how long that lasts.....
