|unodog4||Finilly got my JK back Friday from the shop. It ended up bieng a bad caliper. Also got the front seals replaced. Have driven arount 150 miles so far and it drives perfect. Hopefully that got it.|

The same thing happened when I owned my LJ. It was the caliper piston ring, it's made of plastic and melts if it gets too hot. The mechanic ended up getting a new caliper and rotor for the drivers side front and new brake pads for both sides of the front.
I could not believe it when he showed me the plastic wall ring that the OEM caliper piston rides in. What was Chrysler thinking!

|unodog4||Just talked with my mechanic. i'm taking it back in Monday, he also thinks its a caliper. Also am going to get the seal fixed. I will keep everyone posted. Just now getting the money to do mods and this crazy stuff just takes the wind out of my sails!!! Crazy thing is that this was a one owner mall crawler that has still never been off roaded.|

That yaw thing made no sense. My guess caliper.
My passenger was sticking and a friends 10 caliper froze on him (gluestick)

That's pretty strange. The only seals in the front are in the diff, I don't see anyway you could have generated enough heat to damage the axle seal unless the axle tube is bent enough for the axle shaft to be binding against it.
Not saying that's what it is, just thinking out loud. Maybe it is a computer related brake problem and the leak is just a coincidence. Or maybe you cooked the grease out of the axle joint?

|unodog4||Thought I had it fixed! Tonight I just got back from about a 50 mile drive and the drivers front wheel is hot again, I jacked it up and I can barely turn it. It seems like the caliper is hung & also I have oil leaking pretty bad out the axle behind the u joint. At least no sensors on this time. Any Ideas?|

|unodog4||After talking with the mechanic a few minutes ago about this issue again, it seems that the YAW sensor has something to do with the steering and the balancing of the jk. It all fits together now because for the last few weeks I have been noticing my steering wheel more cocked to the right. Someway or another he was able to reset the alignment of the steering wheel by the computer setting and its perfectly strait again. Seems the sensor was making the drivers front tire compensate for the unbalancing of the computer.|

|unodog4||OK, here is what I found out at my local mechanics shop. He said the first thing they done was hooked it up o the computer and checked the sensor lights that were on and this is what he came up with. It showed that the YAW sensor needed to be reset. After they did that and reset everything it drove like a new one. They checked the front end and all was good. I had been running my stock 255 r70 17's up until Monday. Then I put my new 17x9 Moto's on with the new 285 r70 17 toyo's on and thats when it went crazy.|

|JEEPbug||When my Mazda had its issues, the driver side went out, and then the passenger side. Both bearings. Turned out the seals inside the hubs were both bad an allowed moisture to get to the bearing. When my buddy (mechanic) showed me the old bearing it was full of "pits". He told me if moisture gets on the bearing its game over. Also it was a PITA process to press the bearing out to get the new one in.|

drivers side front tire locked up!!
My 08 2dr.jk has been driving great. I put a new set of 285 17" toyo at 2's on it Monday. Today my wife drove it about 90 miles. about 6 miles from the house the esp light and stability control light came on and she could not get it over 40mph. after inspection it, drivers side front rim was scalding hot and you could hardly turn the tire. could this be a snesor or does it sound like a caliper?
