|RKCWLER||I would like to make a nice camp trailer behind the jeep. I have a harbor freight in pieces right now. I would like to make a teardrop type where you could sleep in it and have the cooking on the rear.|
|Yesterday 02:30 PM|
Those trailers look sweet. All I see is camping rigs in the rough.
I love talking engines. I really miss it. I worked for a Winston West nascar engine shop for a while. I was very surprised to find out the they didn't have many tricks I already knew. It was a fun career.

If you weld the top of the runners together and then grind open the walls for about an 1 1/2" down and then remove the center of the plenum holes in the middle to match it will cut the reversion pulse length and move the rpm band up about 400 to 500 rpm with virtually no loss of bottom end. I got to play with these and the ford long runner setups a lot.

Bored out 427. They wind up like a small block. Only a 3.75 stroke just like a 383.
I built a lot of 383's. A nice build was a flat top piston on a 5.7 rod. Internal balance with a plug of heavy metal. .000 deck on the piston. A set of 195CC intake Aluminum heads usually I lightly ported them and a 72CC combustion chamber. Ran a small roller about 220@50 on a 115 lobe spread for great vacuum and EFI compatability. You can use a Edelbrock 4 bbl EFI setup. Or if you want torque out of your mind then an Arizona Speed and Marine Ported Long Ram SEFI system. That should make almost 500 lb-ft down low and still pull hard to 5500.

Pretty bad ass, how did you whined up with 440ci? I'm waiting till I get my k5 out this way and ill attempt to build a torque happy 350ish lol 383 seems logical but i feel like if i can bump up the compression from 8.3:1 to around 10:1 and port the TBI heads for just a tad more midrange but keep the high velocity in them. Small roller cam since its a TBI block and has all the makings for one. I'll probably talk to my buddy whos got a friend im hendrix racing to spec out a cam. Nothing more than 215 duration at .050 though. Try and keep 110 or so LSA for decent vacuum at idle.

|Gunner||underdriven 10-71 on a 440 Chevy. My ported heads and 9 to 1 compression. 9 pounds boost. Small roller.close to 700lb-ft at 2500 rpm.|

|Gunner||Yeah they do. My best was 822hp on 91 octane. A small inch BBC with a low boost Blower. It was a total hoot to drive.|

|Gunner||I enjoyed having my little one man performance engine shop. I got to do things my way and on my schedule. Taxes were a big deal but it was so worth it. I only closed it because of my health. My perks were 600 hp daily drivers.|
