I have been running this kit since 2006 without any issues...all though Im a mall crawler.
I added 4-5" lift springs as well.

I did get it out on the street to test drive it a few miles, didn't get it in the dirt yet, bummer! The ride on the street wasn't too bad, but with no shocks yet. I was afraid the ride would be very stiff with little flex, while it wasn't a buckboard ride it wasn't as soft as I had hoped for for flex. Looking for the right shocks to put under it this week and trying to get some guys together for next weekend to take out to a local trail for its first real test. Would love to find an RTI ramp around here to check on the flex of it, I may get it out later today and find some area to place it on an angle though.
Will take pics and post up if I get it out today.

|Gothere||Well got the shear pins from the 4x4 shop here, it's looking like soonest to get it back installed is Friday after work....still pushing to get it out on the road this weekend...|

|Gothere||Got the rig completed and was backing it down the drive I noticed the rear tires were screaching and screaming on any little turn. Pulled it back in and jacked up the rear pulled the new lock right, all 4 shear pins were sheared, don't know why this would happen on a new unit, but a little delay before the test of the lift kit. Will probably have new shear pins on Wed. Hopefully still out on a trail by the weekend...|

I should also say if you are SOA without a traction bar and have no axle wrap you are definitely pretty easy on it. I started getting axle wrap after about 500 miles after doing an SOA setup before I fabricated a traction bar and redid the springs.

Next up, how dos the kit perform?
Well this may be a week or 2 before I get time to test it out, good thing is temps here in AZ are getting cooler and going out to wheel here right now is tolerable temp wise. I will post up on how it performs as soon as I get out.
Hope this last write up helps someone to make an informed decision on this product???

Customer service is O.K. IMO.
Lets start at the ordering of the kit. I read a few posts by some and I was leary of the company, but after I decided to order the kit I wanted to make sure I wasn’t waiting 2 months to get it.
Didn’t order it from internet site, I called and talked to them about the order. I specifically mentioned that I did not want to wait for parts on backorder. If anyone plans to order this kit, call and ask if all components are in and ready to be shipped. RRO was up front with me about this, while ordering he checked to see if all components were in.
I was planning to get the shocks with the kit, but RRO mentioned that the shocks were on backorder for 2-4 weeks and that would hold up shipping of the kit until the shocks came into RRO. My choices were order and wait for shocks, order and get the kit in one shipment and shocks in another (paying for extra shipping cost), or not getting the shocks. I didn’t get the shocks.
Once the ordering is done keep RRO honest. I ordered on a wed. and by Fri. I still had no tracking #, called to see what was up, seems that they were waiting on brake lines??? Thought he said all parts were in??? I was told they got them in and it would ship out on Mon. It did and I received my stuff on Fri. of that week. Don’t know how much was and wasn’t B.S. but in the end got my stuff sooner than I was bracing for.
Were they helpful during the install?
Well I called RRO a handful of times on tech issues, no real ground breaking advice, just a reaffirmation of what I thought I had to do on a particular problem.
On getting some missed parts (bolts etc..) I got to say they worked hard to replace them in a timely manner at no cost or shipping fee’s. RRO’s customer service at this level is O.K. to good, but if I had a larger complaint, such as when RRO told me to grind a part down, if you do something like that and the part becomes unserviceable, I would suspect that even after following RRO’s directions, the customer would be out of luck with RRO sending you a replacement part.
RRO could have a good little thing going here if they just worked on these area’s.
Better tech advice, stand 100% behind their product, better instructions, and drop the all bolt on crap, it is about 90-95% bolt on, but your gonna do some welding.
I noticed a lot of guys out there looking at this kit, but with RRO’s hesitancy to not really stand behind their product, people are rightly nervous about ordering this kit.

For the most part the install was O.K. There were 3 real issues with installing the overall kit, 2 on the lift, and 1 on the OTT.
On the lift,
1-RRO can you please spend a little more $ on your instructions! Not that anyone couldn’t figure it all out, but the last thing I want to do when installing equipment is to puzzle it together. Just replace the wordy directions with some friggin pictures, especially of the exact parts. This is not rocket science but you could cut the install time down quite a bit if you had more detailed pictures and less wordy instructions. After a little while the instructions were trashed.
2- Once the lift kit was fully installed I measured the angle for the driveline, hoping that it might be in tolerances to not have to rotate the pinion, or maybe it was just out and all I would need was some shims to correct driveline angle. NOPE! Called RRO to see what they recommended for driveline angle. RRO said to grind down the front portion of the lift so that the axle would rotate up. Well, not going to do that. Short of it was I ended up getting some welding done on relocating the rear spring perches in order to aling my rear pinion to point at the TC. RRO should stop telling people that this kit is 100% bolt on, luckily I also added a front tow bar to the jeep and I was able to tow it down to Desert Fab to get the welding done. I think RRO sets up their customers for failure by not telling them you will have to do this.
On the OTT.
If you look back at my earlier post on the OTT, you can see the issue I had on drilling out the steering knuckle to 5/8th. “ RRO put an elongated smaller hole in that location (probably only had a 3/8th. Bolt there originally), and now RRO wants you to basically bore a larger hole out. It was a pain in the A**. I ended up buying a grinding stone for the drill to get this job done. RRO HAS to go back and fix this problem at the manufacture stage, not pass it on to the consumer!

Finally got around to the write up section of this lift install, so without delay here we go…
OK, so lets take a look at the pricing of the kit. Total kit was $1079. Let’s break that down further.
SPOA Kit $489
OTT Steer $500
Steering Stabilizer $89
I did not get the shocks with this kit due to the backorder issue that I discussed earlier, the cost is about $200 more for this kit with shocks.
Additional costs for needed parts that were incurred directly from installing this kit.
SYE Kit $300
Drive Shaft $275
Now based on how your garage/shop is setup with tools, you may or may not need to buy these. Some I had some I had to get.
A FRIGGIN Grinder, you will use this a lot, especially on the steer knuckles, and the lift itself. I had a grinder. $0
A 5/8th. Bit this cost me $20, since I only had a 3/8th. drill I had to purchase a bit with a reduced shank, that or go out and buy a 5/8th. Drill.
Other things I did while I had parts out of jeep, new clutch, fixed leaking seal, new oil pan seal, and a loc-right in the rear axle.
Now, for me the kit boiled down to one major issue. I wanted a kit that I could do in my garage with the tools I had. Like I said many times I don’t have a welder and didn’t want to go buy one then re-wire my garage for 220V and buy all the accessories for welding just for this lift. Would like to eventually get a welder, but not now.
So pricing out this kit vs a typical SOA. The lift was $489, it did come with all the pieces and parts I needed, even some I didn’t use, (mounts for the factory track bar and stabilizer bar). It also had the spring plates and bolts, extended brake lines, and the emergency brake bracket.
Pricing out a standard SOA project for this was a little less than the RRO kit. SOA kits for each axle was $100 ea. from M.O.R.E. , extended brake lines $100-150, and what to do for the e-brake? $350 ish….
Then add in welding costs??? $200-$300 or more???

Nope not a mall crawler, but I'm not going extreme either. Will be wheeling it on moderate trails, had to go with a CV for several reasons...
Busy week this week so I'm hoping that I will finally get to the brakes and be able to start running the jeep to finally get an update on this write up.
Looking to get the heep out on a trail next weekend sometime...After roughly 4 months I'm done with this mini build up, did the SOA, high steer, SYE kit, new clutch, new front seal, drained and replace brake fluid, relocate the spring perches, new driveline, and install a tow bar setup...
Not much for a mechanic with a shop, about 2-3 days, but in a 2 car garage with basic tools and on a weekend schedule...I'm glad its almost done...
I promise all a detailed write up on this lift kit is coming...

|OverkillYJ||Hope you didn't get a cv shaft. If you did I hope you are building a mall crawler. I am about to kill my 3rd one in a year. Going to put in a non cv shaft with 1350 joint after this one dies. Tired of spending money and driving home on the front wheels alone|

|Gothere||Just got the new drive shaft in, what a pain...installed the Terra-Flex extreme short shaft kit in the TC, went to put the bolts in, bolts were too long, had to pull the pinion without a impact wrench...fun times! Anyway, done for the day, got to bleed brakes before first test drive sometime tomorrow.|

Since this was a "bolt on" kit I wasn't planning to do any welding on it if possible. The one main hang up occurred after the kit install and the axle pinion needed to be aligned up to point at the TC.
Anyway, last Friday I was able to get the rear driveline ordered and will be installing it today, once that is done I will have to replace and bleed brakes, re-set the e-brake, order shocks.
Guess I owe you all an update on this, I plan to take it for a quick test drive tonight or tomorrow (without shocks) and get a more detailed update out to you all.

I recently added some springs and got about 3 inches on my 93. The thing that was overlooked was the steering wheel. I have to figure out how to adjust the steering to move the wheel back to the neutral position. I'd love to hear any advice.
Another thing I found out is that when doing the rear end, my YJ didn't have the slack in the brake lines. That added a lot of work that I didn't foresee.
