Landon II I forgot. I tried to get the seat mount out but the bolts are so tight I bent the torx bit. I used PB blaster and everything.

Landon II Mine came out the day I got my LJ home. My daughter is 23 so she can buy her own jeep LOL. I mountain bike a lot so I like that I can keep my bike locked in my jeep all the time.

OkieOutlaw Mine came out the day after purchase. I took up the seat belts and carpet and added a heavy duty bed mat. Wife bought a small tool box for the back that holds a very good sleeping bag as well as a tool kit I made up , a duffle bag with portable DVD player and lots of assorted movies , Our camping lantern with spare propane bottles. The Rott likes it better too.

Mumblewood I put my back seat in the jeep last week for the first time in years, gonna start taking my son out on the trails.

Michigunman No back seat, mounts or seat belts. Still looking for the perfect size truck box to mount in the back.

brokeagin The first mod I did was to remove my back seat, brackets and seat belts. It's just the two of us so its not needed. It's actually laying in the garage waiting for someone who wants to buy it.

^ I've got a lazy Bassett hound mix who likes it better with the seat in. He's figures out how to prop his feet just right on the wheel wells so he doesn't slide. I feel like Cletus in Smokey & The Bandit.

I have one for the tailgate, it held me 33 until I got a free tire carrier..

chilly I generally leave the back seat in the Jeep but folded up for extra storage. I need additional passenger space infrequently, but just often enough to make it a PITA to have to lug it out of the garage & back into the Jeep

Edit- ttt means "to the top" (of the message board).

SpoiledRotten I keep the back seat in for a couple of reasons; 1) I have a little girl that will occassionally ride with us, and 2) I have the sub, an amp, and tools in the back with a cover over it so if I took out the seat, there would be no protection at all for those components.

No padding for your dog at least?

Me? No Back seat. Cleaned, wrapped in plastic and put in garage attic. Left the shoulder belts in.

Otto Man I keep it in, but it is rare that I have more than 1 passenger in the Jeep even with two kids.

f9k9 IIRC, I pulled my rear seat within the first week of ownership. The carpet and drain plugs went, after the first club ride. I wish that I had held out for a LJ Rubicon but, hindsight is always 20/20.

BTW, nice find on that tool box, Jerry!

Something like $120 on sale but unfortunately, my local store stopped carrying them right after I bought mine. I just checked their website & didn't see them there either.

Jerry Bransford Spare parts & tools are more useful on the trail & they weigh less than back seat passengers. So the back seat was ditched in favor of this permanently mounted alumium locking storage box picked up from Harbor Freight Tools a couple years ago. Darned handy.

5spdftw I'd love to ditch the back seat but that eliminates the prospects of double dates while wheelin...
In all seriousness, I can usually cram anything I need to carry, including tools and spares for wheeling, into the "trunk" but if I'm going out for some serious wheeling and I know it's just gonna be me and one passenger I'll take the seat out to make room for more supplies or tools. For the purpose of this thread, the seat spends more time in than out but I would prefer the opposite.

DBoat This poll has been interesting.. over half the folks never run with a backseat and almost 75% either dont run with a backseat or at least dont run with one part of the time..

KBR97 My backseat has been in my basement since I bought the jeep 5 years ago. I have a newborn now so I'll eventually set it up with a nice seat for her back there so she can come 4 wheeling in a couple years.

tallzdatank I have the back seat but rarely need it, but when i do I put it in most of the time it's out. saves weight, I get about 1 mpg better without it.
