Cowboy17 Is the console wood? if so, use a wood match or a toothpick and jam it in the hole and snap it off flush. The original screw should bite perfectly again.

Help with Lock Console

the lock on my console hasn't been working well lately and its because the screws holding the part of the lock on the hinged part of the lock keep falling out:

This is the bottom part with the actual key insert. It turns when its closed and latches onto the top part:

Problem is that the top hinged part won't stay firm in its spot (one screw is missing in the pic, causing it to droop) and therefore won't lock at all

Any ideas to remedy this? I tried longer screws but they won't go in all the way, they kinda click/jump like when you tighten a bottle cap too much.
