|Neral22||Welcome, wavey. 33s may look a little small but it all depends on what you want and what you plan on doing with it. You may want to get some 315s ATs if you wont be off road too much and they will be in the 200-250 a tire range. Get new speakers from amazon, i love the autotec ones i got for ~$35 a pair. If you have a stock head unit, you may want to upgrade that as well if you are a music lover. Not informed regarding the lockers.|

Help Me Understand My Jeep
So, I've been wanting a Wrangler for years.
Over the weekend, I bought a rock crawler (maybe it's not a real rock crawler, but it seems that way to me).
It's a '97 Sport with a 6 1/2" lift and 36" Super Swampers.
It's completely obsurd, for me, but I have it.
I know some specs, but they really don't mean a lot to me.
It has 4.56 gearing and full-time spool lockers on the rear.
The interior seems to be in pretty good shape and the body isn't bad (hood's clear coating is coming off and a little dent - that's pretty much it).
I got it for $7000 (my first car purchased with cash - no loan - yay).
It has a 6 cylinder, 90000 miles, and a stick shift (prefer automatic, but not so sure on the 3-speed).
If I were doing something, from scratch, I would probably just do a 2"-3" lift and 31"-33" tires.
I'm not a big off-roader and I'm sure it will do a lot more than I have the balls to do.
I'm not looking forward to the day that I need to replace the tires ($375ish/each?).
Would it look completely stupid to go down to a 33" tire, because of the lift?
Would the gearing be all wrong if I used a smaller tire?
Can I take off the spool locker (it is kind of weird when turning corners)?
It seems like it leans just a bit toward the passenger's side (I was told it was because of the lockers).
What parts can I just spray down with a hose (can I spray out the engine area or are there too many electronics)?
What parts can I throw in the washing machine (carpets, roll-bar covers, etc...)?
Basically, I have no experience with Jeeps and I threw myself right into the 9' end of the pool.
I wouldn't know if something was wrong or right.
I will probably take it in and get the oil changed and inspected, this weekend (there are a couple shops in the area with Jeep buffs).
I definitely need to replace the speakers.
The front-right doesn't work and the back-left is buzzy on bass.
I found out, yesterday, that the parking break doesn't work.
