joeuncool My quite regular DW (every bump did it) didn't go away until I put on the Teraflex monster adjustable trackbar. Then I balanced and rotated my tires and it came back now and then. Took it back to Discount tire and they re-balanced the tires and it went away. Haven't had it for 6 months now.

DW will make the back side pucker won't it?

Matador Check the frame side (top) of the track bar bolt. If its oval'ed out then no matter how much you torque down on it, your still going to get DW. The solution is to weld on a thick washers over the holes, then feed the bolt through. This will keep the bolt firmly into place. Make sure that you get the correct sized washer or else you'll have the same problem again.

I was referring to the stabilizer. It may fix the symptoms temporarily but not the actual problem. Watch your track bar while someone turns the steering.

Saying it is the stabilizer is like saying your headlights don't work because you don't have enough brake fluid.

I don't mean to sound condescending, just seen this situation countless times.

Yes, sorry the control arms for sure. Not positive on the pitman. Dont remember if that was part of the kit or not.

we arent just theorizing here, you have a component that allows movement when it shouldnt. simple as that.
All this was done when the lift was done. They put ball joints on at my discretion since they had the front end ripped apart putting trusses on. Didnt cost me that much to have done. So, we arent throwing money at it. Trying to figure it out so I dont. They said that has fixed the problem a few times. Not sure if it matters but on the 4" lift I also have installed 37s

yes. 9/16 bolts help, but your bracket is still wallowed out. it solved my problem for a while but it eventually came back. I ended up torquing the crap out of it with an impact, I dont suggest doing that because I dont know what kind of joints you have

why not just throw money at it until it fixes itself. if the guys that installed it are stupid enough to think a stabilizer has anything to do with deathwobble then chances are they have no clue what they are doing.


you should get under your jeep and figure out the problem in 10 minutes.

we arent just theorizing here, you have a component that allows movement when it shouldnt. simple as that.

Matador Lets start with why you feel its DW? Is the Jeep shaking uncontrollably or is handling very touchy when it goes over bumps? When you experience DW the shaking doesn't stop until you come to a complete stop, is that what your experiencing?

kjeeper10 What's including with the lift? Higher lifts/geometry can contribute to DW if not done correctly. With that being said .... You need to focus on the track bar and mount holes.

n3tfury Not a stabilizer issue. If your ride is dialed in, you can even ride without a stabilizer. Look up Planman's youtube video for death wobble diagnostics.

Death wobble after lift!
