Old Dogger I never wash mine. The dirt shields my top from the sun, this way it should always look like new, MAYBE.................

flyinion I use a spray sealant on my top (synthetic wax). Spray on, wipe off, done in 10 minutes 1/2 of which is dragging the step stool around the Jeep.

To each his own but that product is nothing more than a concealer for your paint. The reason that it looks better is because it covers everything that is wrong with the paint (i.e scratches, swirls, chips). It will no doubt look good but it will fade away after a while.

JeeperJake My top is "khaki" and don't need no steeeenking special products.....

I randomly wash with the Turtle wax/soap stuff & hose it off. Drying with leather or microfiber seems to be all it needs to shine nicely.

Goldrif Turtle wax brand - "ICE"
great stuff.

http://www.turtlewax.com/detail-ICE%...Wax-42-88.aspx

works on the black plastic fenders very well.

TrueBlueJK NuFinish sounds like it might do the trick.

BacaraJKU I wash my jeep as do any other car I have owned. For the Hardtop I use Meguiars Quick Wax spray. Works great and keeps it looking new. About 1 year old right now.

Others have used some Turtle Wax spray product, but assume the Quick Wax is along the same lines. No residue build up or anything.

RoadiJeff How would a touchless car wash do any damage to a Wrangler? I can't see it being any different than washing it manually with a power wand at a DIY car wash, which we've done several times now.

4X4BIKEPED Try a non-wax based polish. (Nu Finish comes to mind). It is easy to apply, and doesn't whiten. Every 6 months or so is sufficient. For the first application, give the top a good cleaning and apply twice. One caveat... keep it off of any rubber.

Oh.. I am assuming that your top is the textured standard top (black) and not the body color gloss version.

And I 2nd what Davidsjeep said. In my experience, auto carwashes beat the heck out of Wranglers.

Davidsjeep I don't know what to use, but I do know that the Automatic touch-less carwash is not a good idea. I started finding chips in the paint and needed to use my black touch-up paint pen...

I guess that I do use my Turtle Wax, Spray&Dry carwash wax/polish... So that might help.

I love that stuff, it's super easy to use, and if you get a good drying rag it leaves a really nice finish with no waterspots.

Rtone1583 Manual car wash and whatever wax/protectant they put through their system. Haven't seen the top of it in a couple of years but the sides are still looking good and going on 4 years old now.

I know it's painted black, but I want to use something that will keep it looking the way it is for a long time. Anyone use wax or any other similar product on it?
